Hi All

I am a real novice. I have just bought a new DVD recorder - the Panasonic DMR E227EB and a TH-50PX70 plasma TV.

I will hook them together using an HDMi cable. But I have some questions ....

- what sort of DVDs are best to use in this recorder? I will basiaclly use it to transfer all of the kids Disney videos (about 50 of them) to DVD, record stuff of Sky to watch on teh train/palne etc.

- what sort of HDMi do I buy. Someone mentioned I need version 1.3 but where from? Do I just buy the 7 pound ones from eBay?

- can I dasiy chain the HDMi like you do with with Scart?? My TV only has two HDMi inputs and I want to use a Sky HD box (one day) and PS3 and the DVD R

Thanks all

C

Version 1.3 refers to the socket not the cable, as this should be the same HDMI for all versions.

As it is a digital cable im told the quality should be the same regardless of cost, but im not 100% sure.

You can get HDMI switches http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tv...%20Switch.html

You are aware that commercial tapes are copy protected, and your DVD recorder won't copy them?.

indeed you would be better still using your old video machine as you will never get the picture quality of dvd and a waste of time, effort and a few naughty words
