Samsung LE40R74BDX - a second fault in 5 months.

I posted an issue here a while back about a drooping internal seal which got sorted (screen replaced). However the set seems to have developed another fault.

Best way to describe it is like a puppet string. If there is a bright/white area on an image in the bottom right of the screen, from the right edge of that i get a thin white line going upwards to the very top of the screen. As images move around the line follows the white area. Roughly I'd say this happens only the right-most 1/4 of the panel. There can also be some less strong 'ghosting' of the whole item.

See screenshot mockup

Obviously that isn't exactly what the screen looks like. It's more subtle and the faded area at the top is blocky like digital noise.

It is noticable on the sky now/next banner as above. The white edge of the banner along the bottom has a white line going up to the top of the screen but given the right image colouration (ie something bright bottom right and something darker top right) it's visiable and annoying.

As with the seal problem I'm more interested in where the problem might lie here and how common a problem it is (I'm all sorted getting it fixed etc). It isn't the sky box, i've tried 3 different sources through component, HDMI and scart with the same issue so I'm guessing the set is at fault.

2 problems in the 4-5 months we've had it (this one within a month of getting the new screen) isn't great either...

I would suggest it's most probably the LCD panel again!.

This doesn't surprise me whatsoever.

I wonder why people don't listen when i say there's serious reliability issues on the Samsung R series TVs?
