Their music was commercial shit, aimed at seven year olds.

No, sorry, either it never happened or it was so traumatic that it's been forcibly removed from my brain... explains the scars and the headaches I suppose.

So what was your favs???
Their latest release: silence.

As usual I concur with Porcupine, UKMikey and Rainbow22

Can I add that if they allow Victoria Beckham to sing on any new songs then a public health warning should come into effect. Or a ban on playing the songs in any public place

No, I never liked the Spice Girls. It was just throwaway pop for kids.

Truly awful singers as well - Mel B sounds like Su Pollard, Geri's voice is like nails scraping down a blackboard and Victoria just mimed and pouted her way through the whole sorry experience.

That's true. Even Mel C's voice gets monotonous after a while. I think Emma B's voice is the only one I'd describe as reasonably pleasant to listen to.

People are getting too worked up about them. Just like in 1996, it's all just a bit of a laff - they never were serious about anything. I have a Live and Kicking on tape that they were on and it's pretty funny. Half way thru their interview, Mel B just pipes up out of nowhere, "Right, who's farted?" Geri is quickly indentified by the others for some reason!

Why bother posting negative comments when this is supposed to be a pro spice girls thread

it would be good if they reunited at live earth

I loved the Spice Girls. I'd like them to reunite for one last concert, they shouldn't do a Take That style return though, it just wouldn't work.

i disagree they were far bigger than take that ever where

they were no1 in just about every country with a pop charts

and still have some fame (in a cheesy way) in America

this comeback will be huge

ill predict now that their forthcoming 'greatest hits' will be one of the biggest selling albums of all time.

I cannot wait for the tour.

I need tickets, I will take a day off work if I have to!

I was a big fan, they're fun and never took themselves too seriously...plus they made catchy upbeat music.

I'm not saying TT were bigger or better. I just meant they shouldn't release new songs or anything.

I really hope they do a reunion concert, I'd go.

indeed, far better than miserable tat or repetitive R+B we have to put up with these days

they never took themselves seriously, and singing about "ziggga zig ah" whilst stood in huge platform shoes was perfectly acceptable behaviour back in the day!

glad to see Simon Fuller is arranging it, their most stupid decision ever was dropping him...yes he may have taken a big wedge of commision, but the man is a genious when it comes to creating big 'crazes' such as the Pop Idol variants, S Club 7 etc

I loved the Spice Girls. I was at the right age at the right time, where they were simply the greatest thing ever.

They have to have some new stuff though, at least a couple of new songs.
