DVDR3440H - Assigning a channel number to an AV ?
When I got my DVDR3440H a few months back, I had a Sony Freeview box hooked up. After a lot of messing about (the DVDR3440H set-up instructions were crap!) I found a way to assign a channel number to the set-top box (channel 6 set to source AV1). I could then watch Freeview via the PVR and pause, rewind etc, etc. I could also change channel of the freeview via the set-top box's remote.
Yesterday I replaced my TV with a Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD70 LCD with built-in Freeview. The SONY freeview box is now out of the loop and Ive found it's quite different to control the freeview and PVR together. I can't find a way of assigning AV1 to a channel number on the PVR, as I did with the freeview box (although I cant remember how I did it in the 1st place). To view Freeview channels via the PVR (with pause, rewind etc) I have to switch the TV to AV1 and the source of the PVR to AV1. to change Freeview channels I have to switch the TV back to TV, change channel and then switch the TV back to AV1. It's annoying to say the least! Is this right? |

I think this may be what you want, I don't need to do this myself so it's not something I use. I went into setup and selected Manual Program. When in there if you set "Decoder" to "On" it seems to use the input from AV1 as the source.
Hope this helps. |
