Corrie: Friday 22 June
Friday 22 June 7.30 - 8pm
Claire (Julia Haworth) is agitated by yesterday's events and is convinced that Casey (Zoe Henry) has pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. She bumps into Steve (Simon Gregson) who tells her he had her "friend" in the cab office yesterday, to which she immediately presses him for the address. She decides to go with Ashley (Steven Arnold) to confront Casey and demands to know the truth. Casey is very calm and makes Claire look totally unreasonable, will this spark more doubt in Ashley's mind about Claire's mental health? David (Jack P Shepherd) begins his job back at the builder's yard and saunters in late, much to Bill's (Peter Armitage) disgust. Bill tells him he has got to tidy the yard while he and Jason (Ryan Thomas) get off. He does as he is asked, to Gail's (Helen Worth) delight. Bill and Jason arrive back to a tidy yard but see David sawing up good timber. Bill is furious and sacks him on the spot. How will Gail react to David's second sacking? Leanne (Jane Danson) tells Janice (Vicky Entwistle) that there is a firm who will lend her the six grand but she reckons that it looks a very dodgy deal. Meanwhile Janice is surprised to get a text from Roger who she shacked up with in France, looking for them to meet up. Vernon (Ian Reddington) lets slip to Ryan (Ben Thompson) that Leanne was involved in Paul's death. This episode was written by Martin Allen, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Duncan Foster. http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=406 Discuss here

Why do they now have 2 directors for the 1 episode? Is that to do with the rewriting and re-filming they had to do?

I hate the stupid adverts that appear midway!
And Clurr wasn't clever "Have you ever seen someone that looks like her?" ... that is nonsense considering the woman had no clue who this was. KCs smile at the end proves she has it in for Clurr. Very crafty. As for the ep, I did not think much of Ryan, those scenes ran off me completely. Clurr is OTT as usual and the story didn't progress that much but it is going along. The factory stuff was surprisingly dull. I guess it is true that Hayley is a bad leader, but they just seemed to lack any real focus other than that.. Leanne and Janice scene in pub was good. edit: forgot to mention the David stuff. Very predictable, very dull. |

Claire/Ashley stuff was good considering it has been a last minute job.
David stuff wasn't as good as it has been, but nevertheless he never fails to entertain Liked the factory stuff with the girls running it themselves. Ryan put on a decent performance tonight, but he isn't the best child actor Corrie have. Leanne stuff was average. Overall...6/10 |

Better than Wednesday's episode, but that doesn't say an awful lot.

Another dull episode tonight.
The Underworld stuff was totally yawnworthy & Tupele Torgu (Kelly) was chronic in the scene when she was telling Hayley that she'd got to go to the dentist. Pity Sally's not running the place as she'd be cracking the whip like nobody's business. Ryan was quite wooden again. You have to ask why there wasn't some sort of scene in The Rovers with him & Leanne given that when he left the back room he was heading back into the pub rather than out of the back door. Surely he would have said something after he's just found out about "Uncle Paul & Leanne". If only Bill and/or Jason had thrown David from the "balcony" in the builder's yard..... Had to laugh at Gail acting surprised that David could have been sacked when she was talking to Bill. David is a complete tearaway & has been for months. Did she really think that allowing him to have his own way by leaving school & then getting him a job he didn't want to do would alter that? Peacock stuff was reasonable enough. I liked the look of determination on Claire's face as she told Ashley that she was going to knock on all the doors in the block of flats. The smirk on Casey's face tells us all we need to know about her I think. 5 out of 10. |

Alright tonight.
Claire annoys me more and more every day. I think she was brilliant a while back when she took Daryll's stereo, but there's only so much you can take of the hysteria. Get out Ashley, get out now. Really enjoyed Bill/David stuff. Laughed out loud when they came back and looked impressed at the building site and then heard the sound of the saw. Just that sound meant TROUBLE! Also liked Gail's reaction- that woman is in serious denial.Leanne/Janice  they are still saying the same thing in every episode and Leanne has got over Liam awfully quickly. Now...RYAN CONNOR the boy CAN NOT ACT. I know I've said this many times, but for goodness sake! He speaks in the same tone all the time... tonight was the best performance he's ever done and it was still cringeworthy. It's almost cruel putting him in an episode along side David.6/10 |

Quite a poor episode, without too much to comment on...
... apart from those bl**dy "coming next" banners! They're appalling, and they cheapen ITV's greatest institution. I can't believe they had TWO of them in tonight's episode. Are they showing these banners in every region? I'm in the London region. |

I am now even more concerned for the lovely Claire. That Casey is evil. I hope it gets sorted soon.
It was asking for trouble expecting Demon to do that job correctly I like Michelle but I also find her to be a bit annoying.
