Hi, I have the JVC THSW 8 wireless sound system. The DVD player gave an unhealthy bang a week or so ago and now doesn't have any sound. I presume the fuse has blown inside?

Anyway, can I but another JVC player and hook it up to the exisiting sound system? Its a wireless one but the wireless gubbins are all in the sub woofer so in theory it should eb ok?

Anyone help please?

As long as the existing DVD player has no special connecting leads going to the sub-woofer any other DVD should work...in theory.

Another thing I've found in all of this, is that there aren't any TV repair shops anymore. I suppose the equipment now a days is so cheap it's expendable.

Unfortunately this does use a 'system cable' which won't be on any other models.

There's still plenty of repair shops around, Comet do repairs too.
