Les in Court
I have heard that he will get off. If that is the case, what will the conseqyences be for the Police witnesses ?
A conviction would be partly is own fault as he has not even told his own solicitor the truth. He should have admitted that he did go through a red light and that he was stopped for a good reason. He should admit that he did provoke the PC into assaulting him. If he told the complete truth his version of the events would be far more credible than " He stopped me for no reason and beat me up for no reason" |

He would be a truly independent witness and swing the verdict in favour of Les, although I doubt his skills in cross-examination will be up to much. Remember the burden of proof rests with the prosecution and the Court must be satisfied beyond all reasonable doubt that the Defendant is guilty of the offence for which he/she is charged. If there is any doubt at all then the Court should acquit.I have heard that he will get off. If that is the case, what will the conseqyences be for the Police witnesses ? Les could also make a formal complaint to the PCA and issue civil proceedings for wrongful arrest, malicious prosecution and unlawful detention. It would be ironic if Les were to be found not guilty and then get a payout from Manchesterford Police Authority and Emma and Mick were to be disciplined/sacked/retired. Let's see what happens this week.

Just think if Les went down we'd have the "Free Les" campaign like when Dierdre was convicted and there were questions asked in the House of Commons! Can't see Tony Blair doing that for Les LES IS INNOCENT! |

Here's my punt for what it's worth -
Emma and Curly, with their relationship under strain anyway will opt for a trial seperation. Curly will keep the baby with him. We will only see him out when he nips to the corner shop because he's run out of nappies, gripe water etc. His chats with Sunita will increasingly become the core of each scene in the corner shop. Out of pity, Curly's old mate Kevin Webster will ask him for a few bevvies one night. Curly bemoans the fact that he can't get a babysitter in the corner shop. Sunita says she'd love to babysit. Curly gets home, slightly the worse for wear, a bit upset that his marriage to Emma (and previously Raquel) has gone down the toilet. Sunita consoles him, one thing leads to another and hey presto! bodily fluids are exchanged Meanwhile, with Janice Battersby not so sure after all whether she should stand by her man, could Les be in with another chance?

Just call me Nostradamus.
Question is, will Emma return to the street or will she be moved to Rosamund or even Incamome Street? Will she even keep her job as a copper? Be moved to traffic duties? Get a job as a security adviser for Bettabuys? |

Just testing! They haven't mentioned it in ages though, have they, Inkerman Street?
Thinking ahead, could there be any possibility of a romantic liaison between Emma and the following singletons: Tyrone Ashley Fred Dev Steve MacDonald Mike Baldwin Harry the cleaner The Bloke from Boyzone (in a wierd partner-swap storyline) |

Dont know. I believe she might have an affair, but none of the above seem viable!

Trial separation for Emma and Curly and when Curly has an affair with Sunita, Emma has one with Boyzone. Janice and Mick split up and yes..........her and Les get back together. Then again - maybe not

Mrs F-B you are either a script writer or should be! Your stories sounds the most likely course of events for sure.

Kieran (Boyzone) does come back apparently. He'll obviously make a play for Sunita, but who will she choose? It appears that maybe that bizarre partner-swap story wasn't too far from the mark after all.
(No I'm not a script writer, but if there are any out there, gissa job!)

I don't want to incur the wrath of those soapies who like the tension of not knowing what happens until it unfolds on the screen so I've sent you a PM. ric9380

It's supposition I'm after, not knowledge! For example, it would be good to see him under oath while dressed as Ziggy Stardust...
