Who was the best for you this year?

Bat For Lashes (magic) and Editors (awesome) were my personal favourites (wish I could have been there).

Iggy Pop for having the balls to do what he did, the bloke really doesn't give a ****.

I'm not joking, btw, but I thought Dame Bassey was magnificent. Proper belt ,em out singer. Plus Arctic Monkeys were simply amazing on Friday night. 21 years old, never even been to Glasto before let alone played it, and headlining the main stage, they stole the first day. And NO TRICKS, no laptop/synth sound enhancements (*cough* Kasabian *cough*), just 4 young lads playing their hearts out.

No disrespect, but I think it may have been more chemicals than balls that made him do what he did.

He has been sober for some time now, I suspect the years of heavy drug use have addled his brain though.

I thought Iggy and the Stooges were great! I also appreciated Dame Shirley.

My personal favourite were the Chemical Brothers. Always a brilliant show.

Arcade Fire and Björk.

Unfortunately I didn't see Bat For Lashes but I saw Lauren Laverne mention how good they were....which made me like her for about 10 seconds....until I remembered how annoying and crap she usually is.

I couldn't stick most of the coverage. Too many annoying presenters and the same old boring, mediocre artists. I did have the misfortune of seeing a clip of Mika absolutely massacring 'I Want You Back' by The Jackson 5. Talk about crimes against music .

Had to watch on TV sadly but my favourites were Kasabian (outstanding), Iggy & The Stooges (anarchic!) and Bat For Lashes. I also enjoyed The View, Maximo Park and Arcade Fire.

I thought The Editors were great, Chemical Bro's rocked and also enjoyed Paul Weller.

Was really dissappointed in The Killers

p.s. My first post around these parts, hope I become part of the family

Can anyone guess what band were Edith Bowman's favourite at Glasto? Virtual champagne to the winner.

I was actually disappointed with Arcade Fire but was blaming a poor sound mix. Is that par for the course live, delgado?

Kasabian (nothing wrong with laptop/synth sound enhancements.. they always put on a good performance, the crowd love it, and that's what matters surely...?) Iggy & The Stooges.. Bjork. Arcade Fire didn't sound their best though

Wouldn't be Editors by any chance?

Edith really is annoying. Everyone's 'amazing' aren't they? Is there a band she's not afraid to say she doesn't like?

Going off on another tangent, seeing as they were all the rage this year - Who did perform the best cover version?

Virtual jerobome (sp?) to delgado. On a serious note, I do find it distasteful thta she is allowed to big up her boyfriend's band on a public service broadcaster.

The sound wasn't the best and it seems some people who were there are saying the same thing. The few songs I saw were still enjoyable though because they're always fun to watch. Also, I think only part of their set was shown as well which is typical.....I expect they had to cut to Amy Winehouse or Jack Penate for the third time or something....

Did Arcade Fire not do Rebellion (Lies), Power Out or Keep The Car Running in their set, or did I just miss it/BBC didn't show them?

pretty sure they did do it, but just BBC doesnt show the full sets normally(other than the headliners)

Personally my top 3(in no particular order):

Iggy Pop and the stooges - i thought it was brilliant performance, stage invasion was icing on the cake.
Arcade fire - these guys are just awesome cant wait to see them later in the year
Gogol Bordello - perhaps not their best ever peformance but these guys are great.

I thought The Killers and The Who stole the show to be honest.
Just honest to goodnes rock and roll.

Not a fan of the Arctic monkeys and for me they didnt dissapoint. I found them rather dull if im honest, far too predictable and boring but dont shoot me eh.

I was there...I loved it, so sad its over.

But the best band were The Killers followed by The Kooks.

I thought The Killers were bloody amazing, such a great live band.

Some of the performances can be viewed on the BBC website:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2007/watchandlisten/

No Arcade Fire but Bat for Lashes full set is in there, along with many more.

Would agree the Killers were a bit disappointing - it seemed a bit flat and tired to me. Not sure why - maybe they're just a bit jaded after touring for the best part of a year. I turned over to Iggy & The Stooges and they were just so much more exciting.

I got about 40 minutes of their set on sky + as they were on after Rufus Wainwright  . I enjoyed watching them and can't wait to see them live in November.

Arctic Monkeys were superb also.

I caught a song by a band I'd never heard of called Gogol Bordello and it was excellent, very different to anything else I've seen so far.

Still got plenty of it to watch on sky + so might have some other bands to add.
