No. Not Comet. It's £1229 in John Lewis. FREE Sony 160GB DVD/HDD recorder, FREE 5 year guarantee and FREE Glass stand. I bought one last Saturday (being delivered on Friday).

I think I should change my user name to JohnLewis, I'm always on about them.

£1499 internet? £1229 in store.

Or is the 'U' suffix a different model?

No, the U just means UK.

I currently have a Sony DAVS 880 home cinema system with my Sony CRT 36" tv.

If I go for this Sony LCD tv, will I still be able to use this dvd home cinema system with it?

Yes, the home cinema kit has nothing to do with the TV.

More superlatives... have a look at the What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision review. Under Related Articles (half way down on the right).

I've edited the URL in my post, it's from the Sony website. Click it again. Under Related Articles (half way down on the right).

Move along now... nothing to see here...

Last edited by Chorlton Fisher : 27-06-2007 at 17:27. Reason: Panicked on seeing a new model on the Sony website. But it's 1366x768.

its very very good

ive sky HD going through it, its perfect, better than any inshop demo i have seen, if you have a HD source you wont be disapointed
if you dont, then you may as well stick with your CRT

Well I only have V+ from Virgin Media, so very little HD contect to be honest. But I do watch a hell of a lot of DVDs so if I purchase an upscaling dvd player to go with it, surely I will find my dvd collection renewed and reinvigorated!???

so, if I get this TV and the new Sony integrated 5.1 home cinema surround sound TV stand, for about £1800 or so,
am I getting a good new tv/home cinema package?

Bearing in mind I have a buyer for my existing package of Sony KV-36FS76U and Sony DAV-S888 for £500!
