God her voice is like nails on a chalk board it really is, so whiney and nasily. I cannot fathom why she is being groomed as the 'new Beyonce'. The Aldi Beyonce more like, a cheap, pale immitation.

As for that Umbrella song, I HATE IT! So sick of seeing the video everytime I switch The Hits on

Her voice is ok although sometimes it can be a bit whiney

I can't stand Britney or that jessica simpson, they sound like little kids singing.

Bit, harsh to say that she is tone deaf, where as she can sing

I agree wholeheartedly.

Unfortunately, this is not the opinion of most of the girls at my school, who insist on playing it on their phones VERY LOUDLY.

No she can't sing live. They use an autotune machine to get her through the studio.

Your joking? Your view might change after hearing this classic clip of hers from yesteryear...

The Nasal thing I agree! I hate her "UnfaithfuL" (even I have to do a little research for the title).

but she's slightly better in the third album.
Have you ever heard Chris Brown's cover "Cinderella", I wish the song had gone to him at the first place.
There's a reason why Rihanna got the right first.

Rhiannas an alright singer, she does a good job on "Hate That I Love You" with Ne-Yo.

There are worse singers than Rhianna that are successful, Nelly Furtado for one. She has without doubt the worst voice in music today

I agree.

The YouTube only shows Rihana adopting a different style for Mariah Carey's Hero too.

She's okay. Her voice sounds fine on record, although singing live might be a different question.

That one's very whiney. Everytime I hear it played I keep thinking is she supposed to sound like that?!

I've heard his version. I think it's quite cute Apparently, "Umbrella" was originally meant for Mary J Blige, but Rihanna insisted on having it for her album. Hmm.

Oh no why did you have to go and say that!!

I think she's alright, not as great as she's made out to be but you know, Beyonce's getting on in years and Jay-Z needs a new muse to peddle.

But I did have to laugh at recent pictures of her with a horrible bowl job hair cut and bright red lipstick she looked like a clown. Clowns are funny.

Nelly Furtado won a best vocal performance award at the Grammys in 2001. She has a consistent and distinctive vocal and only struggles are on the higher notes. Rihanna has difficulty controlling her voice and everytime Ive seen her on TV performing she has lip-synced. Allegedly she has a very good voice but I dont see how think view can be supported. Umbrella and Unfaithful are awful songs, Im sorry.

Grammys mean nothing in todays world.

Nelly, in my opinion, has areally bad, whiny voice that irks me.

Nelly's voice disgusts me.
Every time I hear it I imagine she needs to give her nose a really good blow. She sounds sick and diseased. Euw. But then some people go for that snotty sound ... I don't. It sickens me.

I could tolerate Maneater and Promiscuous because there's not a lot of range in them but all her other songs turn my stomach, Say it right is probably the worst.

Agreed - I really noticed this when hearing the awful "Say It Right." "Maneater" is just one dimensional and awful - but I quite liked her sound on some of her previous folky stuff and indeed "All Good Things" on "Loose."

"All Good Things" struck me as very pretentious and "folky for the sake of folky" though. Especially that crap about the dogs and the moon and shit. You can really hear the strain when she sings the word "all". I guess I'm just not a fan. But nothing is worse than Say it Right.
