Help getting PC to TV
Sorry if I sound a little clueless, but I'm trying to find the cheapest option to view video files from my PC, on my TV. The two are quite close to each other (within a metre or two) so any cable would not have to be too long. I have a 32" Panasonic TV (not sure what model, except that it has Quintrix written on it). On the back of the TV, there is a connection that is the same as where the monitor plugs in to my PC, so is there some kind of cable I could get that would go from that socket on my PC, to the corresponding socket on the TV? There is no S-Video OUT on my PC, so I can't use that method. Is there anything I can do, or do I need to resort to something like a wireless video sender? Thanks for any help anyone can give.
EDIT: Just found this cable on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/SVGA-Cable-M...984499&sr=8-28 Would that work at all? Or am I just completely in the wrong area? |

IF, your TV has a VGA input, then yes that should work, however, I have a feeling that the connection on the TV isnt a VGA input, it is probably a serial port:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_port In which case, your best option would be to buy a new graphics card for your PC, that has S-Video out. Unfortunatly, I doubt a wireless video sender would help either. Sorry! ![]() Something like: http://www.allmacshop.co.uk/?page=proddetail&prod=39398 May work, but I cant vouch for quality / compatibility. |

As long as your TV accepts VGA input you just need a VGA lead, and to set your PC to the correct resolution - you need to consult your TV instruction book!.

If it's just Video, Music and Photos you want to view on the TV you'd be better off with something like this: http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=995 or the Hauppauge Media MVP: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=2S93
