Having witnessed Clay performing "To love Somebody" he just HAS to win AI2. The other's voices are just not a patch on his.

Sorry can`t agree Clay was good but I enjoyed Josh`s version more... Clay songs just don`t do it for me something is missing
not enough emotion...
Now Ruben`s 2nd song was superb in my opinion best on the night..

And Josh has emotion?

I didn't like Clay to start off with, but after Solitaire and To Love Somebody, he definitely deserves to win.... I find Ruben's voice boring personally and Kimberley is a bit inconsistent

Ben, we agree. Is this normal?

I'm agreeing with acerBen and tally.
Although i have wanted Josh off for a while now, he wasn't the worst on Friday - Kimberly was. Although it was probably right that she stayed, cos although Josh had a better week than normal, Kim has performed a lot better than Josh all series.

I can't believe that Josh and Clay sang the same song!

And yes Reuben is boring:yawn:   He sings all his songs in the same m-o-n-o-tone voice.

Clay is no oil painting, but he definately has the best voice and has the ability to sing a range of songs which he has proved.

I was not a Clay fan at all at the start, but i am now, and i think he is the best of those left, and that is why he should win

after watching all their performances on friday , i have to say that josh sang wonderfully.... his version was miles better than clay's. i'm afraid i can't take to clay, he's a bit too broadway for my liking.
i would have liked a round to have been country music , just so all the final 10 could have shown what talent they have in their own genre. what josh had to do every week is as if clay had to do a bit of gangsta rap.
i agree with you all about ruben, he was my fave along with kim locke and frenchie. now i also find him boring and one dimensional.... as for kim ,i thought she was fab this week.
out of the final 3 i would love to see kim win.

p.s. does clay reming anyone else of the puppet character in chitty chitty bang bang that dick van dyke played ?????
maybe that comparison is clouding my judgement...lol

Um there was a country music round, Josh sang Ain't Going Down by Garth Brooks. I've liked Josh a lot more than a lot of people but I have to disagree that the songs he's had to sing have been the same as Clay doing Gangsta Rap. MOST pop/rock songs can easily be country music simply by adding a twangy guitar, and Josh has made a lot of them country just becuase his voice IS a country voice. The difference between pop and country is pretty slim - especially when it comes to ballads (I Will Always Love You etc) - so Josh hasn't had to really go out of his genre at all. Josh has made the songs he sings country. if Clay was singing Rappers Delight and making it sound Broadway, then that would be somethign similar to what Josh has been doing.

Eh, that was a pathetic attempt at a country theme. They even called it "country rock" ... what does that mean?

I know country and that was not country, plain and simple.

This just got me thinking. I find it strange that when Josh talks he doesn't have a country accent, but he sings with one. When Clay sings he sounds broadwayish, but he talks like a hillbilly!

What was it then? I'd call myself a country fan and most of the songs were by reknowned country artists. I think the problem with it - not doing Josh any favours - was he picked such a stupid song to sing! It was a chance to show off his country voice and he picked a song that's so fast and shouty it could have been anyone.
I don't think the blame should be laid at teh AI producers for that one (unless of course Josh was told what to sing.)

LOL I said the very sing thing to my mum last week when we watched. Josh has a lovely speaking voice, Clay's is somewhat..well...scary.

It was the contestants doing everything possible to make the song not country. Except maybe Josh. I agree he should have picked a different song, though.

Did he ever sing "I'm Movin' On" by the Rascal Flatts? For some reason I can't remember. I <3 that song.

IMO there was no contest between Clay and Josh.... Clay hit the high notes and really brought out the emotion in the song.
