does anyone know what her problem is? Why is she how she is and why is she so weird with her parents?

I could joke and say being in EE would drive anyone insane.

However, I do think she has a personality disorder which is very common in the UK.

once again EE has totally changed a character during their time on the "square". Correct me if I am wrong but did she not come into the square as a slightly dipsy solicitor? She now is some complete child abusing maniac, not sure but surely she wouldnt have surrived as a solicitor to her thirties if she had these strange tendancies?

They really have changed her character, bugs me when they do that.

Anyone have the exact problem she has though and why she's doing it?

the problem is you can seem very perfectly normal in front of people and pretend your sane and the world is brilliant but then you turn into this monster behind closed doors when its just you and your victim. Stella is very good at hiding who she really is and thats why no-one really has suspected anything

She hasn't been changed at all. She still is a "dipsy solicitor" - on the outside. But as Mags says she often hides her feelings, resorting to self abuse. I think she has used Ben as a bit of a comfort, as she desparately wants to be loved. Flawed logic but there you go.

However her behaviour is becoming more erratic as people are beginning to find out about her past

Yet when the woman came to fit her dress the other day she spotted immediately that Stella was a psycho.

. it isnt immediate family is it? Shes hardly going to say oh stella looks like she is psycho to peggy. in front on the family stella is acting normal.

Only people who have friends/family who are psychotic may be able to relate to her behaviour

she doesnt have personality disorder and if EE thinks she has they are wrong - complete differernt diagnosis.

99% of the UK have this anyhow.

she annoys me, and i think shes just one of the charachters ruining the show!

I don't get it she bunked Ben off school to help him learn to play football then she got upset and told him he could change his mind about going on that football camp thing.

Isn't it something to do with her sister?
I was wondering if she did something to her when she was younger; you know like what the jane storyline was rumoured to be?

The storyline is still running and there are things yet to be learnt so I for one am waiting before I jump on this bandwagon.

She was 10 and her sister was 4, Stella was left in charge of Katherine.

Maybe she was jealous of her and pushed her into a pool, or killed her some other way.

yeah i think so as well Pink giraffe there is no way she died of meningitis. Why would her dad pretend not to be there in that case. Stella must of been looking after her and maybe in a strop about having to look after her sister wasnt doing it properly and katherine died either that as you say she killed her

When Stella said 'it was an accident' I was thinking that she pushed her down the stairs.

Or maybe didnt see her go infront of a car or something.

We'll just have to wait and see.

maybe stella and her sister went swimming, stella's sis drowned, and stella stood and watched because her sister got all the attention so she'd finally be out of the way.

I'd like to know exactly when Stella does any work as a solicitor - she's always hanging around just inside or just outside the kitchen door!

And she looks like Stan Laurel.

Wasn't there a storyline in Corrie a while back where Alison Webster had been looking after her sister when she was younger and she had died whilst in her care and Alison had always blamed herself because she was older and was supposed to be responsible. Maybe it's a similar situation with Stella, perhaps her parents have always blamed her for her sister's death.
