Lol yeh but he hasn't been having an affair this time, so he's got a clear conscience

Stacey doesn't seem that happy with Bradley does she?! Its like shes making the best of it. Trying to get Max out of her system. Dots such a sweet woman, really nice.

After the Max thing comes out, Dot will undoubtedly be angry at Stacey, cause of Bradley, but i think the writers could also make her someone who is there for stacey when nobody else is. Cause she always seems to have a kind word to say to people who are in trouble. Either her or Pat. She's always a good one to talk too lol.

Quite boring tonight which is a shame since last night it was pretty funny. I like Dot and Pat talking about the smoking ban that made me chuckle. I don't smoke so it won't affect me ha ha Back to EE im starting to get bored of the whole Stella crap just bloody bring it all out once and for all then either marry Phil or do one.

Yeh the smoking ban thing was alrite, but like you it doesn't effect me, i dont smoke, and i live in Wales we've had the smoking ban for a few months now. Never or less i like Dot and Pat.

I enjoyed it. I thought that the scenes with Stella's parents were very interesting. I love it when they show the never-seen-before parents of characters that are getting married. Does anyone remember Debbie's mum? Or Laura's parents?

I'm pretty sure Laura's parents were in it at some point, maybe during the funeral though.

I don't think Shirley wears a bra.

allthough not as strong as the rest of the week a decent episode.
The scenes with Stella and Phil meeting her parents were very good overall i was intrigued by how stella's sister died we had heared nothing about the secret before but i'm sure it will all come out before the wedding 2 secrets infact as Phil finds out about ben's abuse. Good acting by all though.
The rest was pretty dull except from Bradley and Stacey scenes liked mo's line about being perked up relating to her real life boob job pherhaps. Dot and Jim listening in on their coversation was good too - Dot and Jim allways light up the screen classic scene with dot putting up the no smoking sign then having her last fag indoor underneath it.

Mickey's visitor in the form of Mo was hilarious - I had no idea who is was.

7/10 quite a good end to the week. next week will be another good week it looks.

I know Stella's as mad as a hatter, but surely even she can see that Phil only cares for her as a mum for Ben. There's no chemistry between them whatsoever and he only kisses/touches her when he absolutely has too. Roll on the "wedding"/end of this storyline - it can't come too quick for me.

I remember Laura's parents coming to meet Ian and not being very impressed.

Laura's mum Edwina Dunn was originally played by Hannah Waterman's (Laura) real life mother, Patricia Maynard.

Anyway I really enjoyed that episode - thought the scenes with Stella's parents were really good and very interesting. I'm quite surprised that others found it dull. Compared to the rest of the week and last week especially it had a bit of a slower pace but in general I thought it was still very enjoyable. Even when nothing much is happening like last night I am still entertained by the show and that's the way it should be. The only reason I can give for that is that the characterisation feels much tighter so therefore it's safe to invest in the characters again and EE have some great characters (mostly female) at the moment. I don't think there's a problem with the writing either and tbh I don't think there has been for quite some time now.

Kate H did get a tad sloppy towards the end of her reign but the new guy has brought things back on course again and is doing a great job.

We learnt more about Stella's character last night so that storyline moved forward, I thought people would have relished those scenes like I did. Fair enough the excruciating Li and Shirley's smelly armpits didn't make for the best TV but they're not enough to drag an episode down for me.

I remember in 2004 when EE was terrible to watch especially when nothing much happened but now the quiet episodes are actually decent. The scripts and characterisation are a lot better compared to that era.

I thought Shirley's stinky moments were quite funny - her character comes out in bits every time we see her - lazy, manipulative, selfish and a liar (so far!) but in spite of that I still like her - she's beyond belief! I ended up feeling sorry for Stella as now we know her sister died in her care when she was only ten - I would imagine her parents treated her badly for the rest of her life and that is why she is how she is (a bit loopy! )

i didnt think that stella's secret would've been that when she was 10 her sister was 4 & died of meningistis- i think i've got it wrong/ i'm a bit confused i dont get- except from the fact stella was blamed for it- why she was!

anywayy! i enjoyed the philth/stella/stellas parents scenes! the opne where philth had a go at her parents was good! can anyone tell me why stella's dad never came out? & how stella knew he'd be there?

i thought, after stella & her mum had that little chat, the secret would be something like:

stella & catherine were playing in the road, stella left for a second to get something and catherine got hit by a car & died!

LOL.
I'M COMPLETELY CONFUSED! SOMEONE EXPLAIN!

Well I like Stella despite all her skeletons of the past - poor woman !! To have the death of your younger sister on your conscience would be awful and enough to twist anyone's mind not to mention having 'that woman' as her mother that alone would be enough to addle any child's brain !! Her dear mother couldn't resist the very obvious dig that Stella work try hard enough to get further in law - like her father. If anyone was abused it was Stella - or so it would appear from how the storyline is going.

Stella's also been married and was going through a divorce when she met Phil - MAYBE - she was also abused by her husband - think - no-one has ever truly loved her - she's never had a child of her own and look how Ben treated her at the beginning. No wonder she lashed back. All poor Stella needs is lots of TLC and people who sincerely care and love her.

See why I like her now?

yeah she blurted that out in the car but theres got to be more to it i think
i mean the father didnt come out to see her and it was very hostile, ok they may blame her if she was watching her but its EE so theres more to it

I think the whole point of it was that her parents took her sister's death out on her and turned her into the person she is today.

There must be a bit more to it though.

I think Stella was lying, hence why she got so nervous when she promised not to tell any more lies. Plus there's the whole Ben stuff too...

I think the whole idea of the Ben storyline is that she's making Ben feel how her parents made her feel when she was growing up.

I'm not sure whether or not to believe her sister died from illness or if it was Stella's fault. Either way we see why she treats Ben so badly as she knows no better.

When Stella`s mother talked about her sister dying at the age of 4 when Stella was 10, Stella said "it was an accident" so Stella lied when she told Phil that her sister died of meningitis.
Presumably Stella was alone with her sister when something happened to her sister that caused her death. whether Stella was responsible delibrately or not her parents have made her pay for it ever since.
I guess we will find out the truth about this next week, but there is still her marriage which presumably will not be talked about.

Maybe the marriage just didn't work out so it ended in divorce.

Why does there have to be something sinister about her marriage just because it ended?

Thought we was talking about Stella's sister not a marriage.
