Isn't the Corrie storyline about Joe seducing a married woman (Karen) into helping him swindle Mike Baldwin while her husband stands helplessly by just a bit like the one a few years ago where Les Battersby's son (Greg?) seduced a married woman (Sally Webster) into, er, helping him swindle Mike Baldwin while her husband stood helplessly by?

Still, it couldn't happen to nicer chap (Baldwin, that is).

Avalaff, it is a little like deja vu all over again isn't it?

So is there a twisty turny thing in the plot, perhaps? For example, does Karen spot that Joe's been ripping off Mike from day one, and instead of getting in on the action:

a) agree with Mike that they'll give Joe enough rope to hang himself;
b) tell the fraud squad, and act as witness for the prosecution, get her marriage to Steve back on track;
c) tell Joe she knows what he's up to and blackmail him;
d) something else I've not thought up yet?

They're not all mutually exclusive, and could indeed all happen. Just picture the scene, Karen wearing a wire, going to meet Joe to discuss terms of the blackmail. In the van outside the factory are Mike ("It's my bloody business, of course I'll be there"), some coppers (could be Emma, depending on when this happens) and some knob twiddlers (snik snik)...

The tension mounts as Joe makes a move on Karen ("You know you want me, Karen")...

The case may or may not fail on grounds of entrapment

Karen notices that there is something not quite right with the accounts, so she goes to Joe and he confesses that he made up an account and business name and has been swindling Mike out of his money, he asks Karen to help him and promises her a penhouse suite, which of course she can't say no to. So she forges Mike's signiture.

Im still not too sure on how Joe will exit the show but I think it will either be:
1. Mike figure it out and sends him packing from Wetherfield, threatning to tell the police if he doesn't leave OR
2. Mike figures it out, calls the cops, tells Karen that if she doesn't co-operate then she will goto prison too, and Joe gets to spend some more time in the company of Her Majesty.

Karen's lush! She'd do owt for a trendy flat. Remember when she and Steve went to the show flat and "did it".

Anyway, Joe Carter must die. Prison is too good for him.

Mrs F-B. i don't think Mike would simply let him go. Look what he did with poor Tyrone. No I want to see Captain Scarlet suffer at Mike's hands before he goes down. Perhaps Mike will have him bumped off and buried in Jack's allotment thereby assisting the Duckworth's "orgasmic" vegetables

On the other hand I like the idea of Karen being wired and getting a full confession on tape. Make the man squirm

Karen and Steve get back together. That much is certain. I imagine Karen will pretty soon realise she still loves Steve and that will influence her decision to tell Mike all. I'm pretty sure thats how it will end up. Mike will of course set a trap and humiliate the guy infront of everyone and send him packing. I doubt Mike will call the police on him, not really his style. Joe has alreaddy snapped at Karen and it shouldnt take too long for him to snap again which should be round about when Karen decides who is best for her, Steve.

I hope not, because that would be a lot like when Deidre was set up by her bloke, who took the money and ran leaving her to take the flak.

Talk about recycling!

Remember he has a nasty temper and is a character full of anger. Karen was a challenge. Carter's got her now, challenge achieved. Just like in business and he'll expect to move onto the next challenge. He needs Karen to help swindle Mike. No, Karen will not go through with it and Carter will be exposed as the criminal he really is. I don't see them as Weatherfield's Bonny & Clyde.

Mike will forgive Karen, or praise her for helping to shop Joe, by keeping her on as supervisor at Underworld, or maybe even promoting her............

..................Karen and Steve will realise how much they really love each other and get back together............

..............and they all live happily ever after (until the next soapland tragedy comes along)!!!!!

THE END

I think she'll fess up to Steve in a drunken stupor. Steve will do everything he can to get her to fess up to Mike. Mike will walk in on them arguing, and Steve will use the "are you going to tell him or shall I" line. Mike will realise that it's Captain Scarlet who put her up to it, get her to entrap him, and then sack her.

When Janice Battersby realises what has happened she will get all the girls to go on a go-slow until Baldwin reappoints her, but this time it will be as his 2 i/c.

Meanwhile, Karen will have time to navel gaze and forgive Steve for being an ar5e and then they'll live happily ever after.

Ha ha - that will be a laugh. They are on a permanent go-slow The only girls who do seem to do any serious work are the verbally challenged ones while those that can speak just gossip and chat away to each other.

So Janice went to the bog with her ciggies at 5 to and was still there at 5 past last night. In our place that is a sacking offence, no quibbles.
