Corrie: Friday 29th June
Friday 29 June 7.30 - 8pm
Sean (Antony Cotton) throws a sickie at work and takes Violet to the park. He tries to put her off the idea of fertility treatment but she is determined to go ahead and points there are loads of single parents who cope. He asks her how will she explain the baby's parentage but she says she'll worry about that when the time comes. After the park Sean reminds Violet about the promise they made to have a child together if they were still single by the age of thirty and suggests to her he could be the father of her child. How will Violet react? Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) remains under pressure from the girls when Janice (Vicky Entwistle) decides to take time off and pretends to go for a doctor's appointment. She tries calling Liam (Rob James Collier) to no avail and Carla (Alison King) is still too upset to be interested in the factory. There is just enough cash to cover this week's wages, how will Carla react to this news? Janice and Roger (Andrew Dunn) go to see the restaurant and are impressed with what they see. Afterwards, in the Rovers, Leanne (Jane Danson) panics about what she has taken on but Janice covers for her whenever Roger appears. Pat (Sean Hughes) finally calls Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and they arrange to have dinner. Roy (David Neilson) is appalled when Chesney (Sam Aston) says the café has come bottom in his school's green audit. This episode was written by Julie Jones, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Terry Dyddgen-Jones. Discuss here!

I thought Violet could NOT have children. I know I must have missed an episode somewhere, but when did she get the all clear?
Thanks anyone. |

I thought she was ectopic or something
No idea what that means just heard it on another thread. But she can have babies they just have to be caeserean (sp?) I think BTW that bit just before the ad break where they were stuffing the picnic into the bags was so badly done it was criminal

That scene in the park was the most cringe-worthy, contrived rubbish I've seen in a long time.

That last bit in the park before the break was awful. Really bad acting from all of them, Anthony cotton is getting worse and i didn't think that was possible

Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a VERY rough ride if Sean is going to be at the forefront of a big story... I starting to feel sick already, and it's only just taken off...

Oh gawd.
Sean and Violet stuff was criminally uninteresting and badly acted. Janice/Leanne stuff was really just filler. The factory stuff was circular and hasn't really progressed at all. Not very enjoyable. Carla's being an eeediot. Overall a rubbish episode. 3/10 |

Anyone else notice how when Sean was reading the magazine it was on his legs then the camera moved and it was in front of his face?

Agree with most posters: the stories are ridiculous.
The factory story doesn't stand up: no matter what hardships we have in life, you have to pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Carla now owns half the factory, if Liam has done a runner, then she is responsible for the workers there - and Hayley said the workers would get their paychecks. Who signed them??? Leanne and the restaurant is another ridiculous story. Today she did mention the rent on the property, but with no money, how is she going to pay the staff? Is she going to cook and serve all on her own?!! Nobody would do this kind of thing in "two shakes..." - what about market study, etc.? Violet and Sean, well, enough said

It's been dull for quite some time now. The show is going downhill. Steve Frost needs to give up as producer and let somebody with talent take over. We need new writers and the duff actors need to be dropped (*cough* Sean *cough*).
I'm bored with the show. |
