Is he permanent or is he one of these recurring characters?

Im not sure, he is good with Janice though. I quite like the character, he is better than some of the other recurring characters such as Derek.

He is permanent now. His test period was earlier in the year and he was asked back soon after.

He was interviewed by Lorraine Kelly one day last week and said that he has just signed for six months. I think he is fab - and I loved him in dinnerladies as well.

Another dinnerladies fan here. I loved him as Tony so am quite pleased he's in Corrie now. I think he could do better than Janice, though. I'd like to see him divert his affections to Eileen. That would pay Janice back for pinching Eileen's man a few years ago.

Hey, I'm in York too! I've never seen Roger, but my mate sees him about sometimes.

Roger was brilliant in DinnerLadies. I hope he's a fixture.

Well he's a lot better than the other "random blokes" they bring in. John and Sonny spring to mind.

I think he's good and is a great partner for Janice. I'm glad he's back.

I really like Roger too. Even though we know next to nothing about him, I think he's more appealing as a character than all the Mortons put together. His financial judgement may be a bit questionable though!

The guy who plays Roger was in Corrie only a couple of years ago as a boyfriend of Liz McDonald. Can anyone recall this?

Liz was working behind a bar for him in 2003.

I quite like Roger, but I find his enthusiasm for lending £10K to someone he has barely met for a restaurant he knows nothing about a touch unlikely. (I know that technically he loaned the money to Janice, but unless Leanne makes a success of the restaurant he has no chance of seeing that money again.)

I also found Vicky E absolutely terrible in her scenes with him last week. They were verging on unwatchable - and I very rarely say that about Corrie. Vicky is good when paired with Jane D, but Roger does not see to bring out the best in her IMO.
