we need more soap tragadies, emmerdale had a plane crash, brookie had a helicopter crash,

what about a tram crash off the bridge on corrie, it could derail and come off the arches/bridge near dev's shop, maybe even plough into his shop and killing deirdre , this might boost ratings, but i think they need sommet like this.

what do you guys think?????

I think the launderette and cafe should get bombed, then everyone dies of shock because they can't find a way to wash their clothes or make a cup of tea as everyone is seemingly incapable of doing this in their own home.

Corrie has had a train crash. Years ago a train derailed off the viaduct (before trendy computer-generated trams ran from right to left), killed one person and trapped Ena Sharples.

It's only a few weeks since a deranged killer kidnapped his family and tried to drown them all so I think Corrie can have a bit of a rest before another tragedy.

Brookside has had more tragedies than a Shakespeare play. You name it and it has happened there.

Can't speak for Emmerdale or EE or Hollyoaks.

Aren't soap tragedies usually a way of culling the cast and injecting new life into a soap e.g. Family Affairs. Oops - bad example

Didn't Corrie have a lorry crash into the Rovers or something, trapping Tracey? I was too young to remember it though..

Eastenders could do with some sort of mass tragedy I think, some sort of Hungerford incident might go down well - has a soap ever tackled one of those gun tragedies?

Yes indeed although, sadly, Traceyluv survived. I'm not 100% sure (and someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong) but didn't someone stupidly take her out of her pushchair just moments before the accident. Just think without her Samir would still be on a life support machine with his kidneys intact!

Edit: The driver of the lorry died at the wheel as it crashed into the Rovers injuring Betty Turpin, Mike Baldwin and Alf Roberts.

Note to self: Get a life.

Emmerdale also had a crash a couple of years ago, you remember the one, the faulty brakes on the Tate lorry went crashing into the mini-bus and sadly Butch died, boy how I cried!

Just remembered, the gun show down in Corrie, ya know the one at the supermarket, Linda Baldwin's brother was shot down by Emma Watts, it was the time when Mike and Ken made a truce.

Ernest Bishop was shot and killed during a hold up at Mike Baldwin's factory. I think Ernest was doing the wages.

And I remember Renee Roberts getting knocked over at some road works when Alf was teaching her to drive.

I cant believe there was a lorry attempting to go down Corrie's narrow, cobble-lined streets!!!

Yep, you never see one nowadays but you do see the Weatherfield Shoppa Hoppa bus or whatever. I imagine there are deliveries to and from the factory but these could be from "packing" and "dispatch" (where nobody appears to work now) and that would be round the back?

It was a wood lorry BTW which crashed into the Rovers - I mean carrying wood not made of it

i think a tram crash would be a good idea as no one on Corrie seems to have noticed the Metrolink "whirring" past every few minutes?

the only modes of transport seem to be feet, cars or the weatherfield wayfarer, which doesnt go anywhere other than the zebra crossing on rosamund/victoria street

you never hear anyone saying they're "popping into town on the Met" do you?

Yea the Websters need to go. They are so annoying! I say they leave by going on a family holiday in Sally's car (wherever that is now!) but on their way out of the street, an asteroid falls out of the sky onto the bonnet, blowing up the car and all its passengers! Then No more Wesbters!

If they do that can they take the Nelsons (or whatever their real name is) with them? Angela and Tommy in a trailer and the 2 kids strapped to the roofrack

Ah, no! I like comedy Norris. He does have his annoying moments but the story with Mr Woo was just class!

But if "the gurls" moved up and we could squeeze in Dierdre and Ken I'd be in love with that asteroid
