Didn't Amber used to have a job at the garage?
In Coronation Street, I remember Amber getting a job in the garage and Norris tut-tutting at a girl being a mechanic.
This has obviously been completely forgotten as has the potential friendship between pensioner and teen I just thought that when the other day Amber said to David, "most male hairdressers are gay you know.", he would have had a comeback!!! |

don't think so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amber_Kalirai just mentions the shop.

She wanted to, but Dev wouldn't let her and said if she wanted a job she could work in the shop.

I wish they'd give Amber more of a part. I think she's terrific. She's brilliant with Norris.

This happens often in Corrie, they start a storyline & just drop it & no further mention is made.
What storyline? Amber was stopped dead in her tracks by Dev, probably after only a few hours working with Kevin: Thus: "Amber returns from Finland and offers to work with Kev in the garage. When she tells dad Dev he goes off his rocker and gets manic about the mechanic. “You want me to be an Asian stereotype!” Amber yells at Dev who tells her that garages are for blokes, not for girls in dungarees and specially not for his daughter" So, what more was there to be done with the storyline? (If ever you can call it that) |
