Just plain stupid..!
Whilst waiting to pick my 2 daughters up from dancing I thought I'd waste of bit of time and have a walk round COMET which was next door, upon the leaving the store I stood amazed as a middle aged couple helped by a comet employee fit a 42" Samsung plasma Tv and DVD with 5.1 surround sound speakers (including sub!) into a CORSA..!! and they had taken the screen out of the box and laid it almost flat in the back of the car..!! Now what is the one thing you should never ever ever do to a plasma TV when moving it..!!! Yup lay the bugger flat, what made me really wince was the exit to the comet car park had a rather large speed hump..!! I just wondered if the employee try to warn them about this method of transporting a plasma..!!
CRACK..!!! OUCH....!!!

Actually the WORST thing to do with a plasma is place it upside down - on it's face won't do much harm, as long as it's protected, and you're not bouncing it over speed humps!
![]() The reason is simple, a plasma screen is made of two sheets of glass, with one taller than the other, and only held together by the lower pressure inside. If the panel is upside down the smaller sheet might slide, ruining the panel. |
