The new Brookie thread
Hi All Brookie Fans!!
I'm introducing this thread as a new place where we can all posts our thoughts on Brookie! The thing that's bothering me at the moment is what's the (underlying) story gonna be with Katie's baby??? I know she don't know who the father is, and is going to pretends it's Nick's and whatever, but surely something is going to happen????? At first, i thought it would end up being born with black skin, hence that Nick couldn't possibly be the father cos he is white. But then i remembered that Brookie have already used this sort of story when they accounted for the Leo / Adele / Dianne pregnancy thing last year! Does anyone know any good Brookie spoilers???? (hint, hint, ChrisE!!!!!!) |

All I know is, Alan Gordan had been having an affair before he died which Debbie finds out about this week, Gary's going to have a break down and then leave Brookside, Steve and Kirsty start to get closer which gets Ali annoyed, and the tension between Sean and Jimmy is set to continue.
And, rumour has it, Sinbad has also been spotted at Mersey TV recently....

Thanx Chris!
Sinbad back?? Maybe he's visiting Rachel, Jimmy or Tim (since he's completely forgotten all about him!)??? Steve and Kirsty - I like that. Steve is fit and Kirsty is a nice lass! I knew about the Alan Gordon affair - i think it's rubbish though!!! Would've been better if they'd decided to show scenes of him having an affair BEFORE they decided to kill him off. Gary - is just a muppet !!!!!IMO |

Never mind re-runs! the existing series needs to be treated better by channel 4!
Anyone know the reason for the 6.30 episode scheduling next week????? |

I drifted out of Brookie when the Nolans were living in the Close and Anthony murdered that horrible bully.
I'm going to get back into it. Does it still have that awful "filmic" look? I remeber that's what finally did it for me. Can any Brookie fan give me a quick overview of any new characters or tell me key information about the regulars to update me so I don't go back into it completely blind. Cheers, ric9380

Also, Dan has now left after Ruth found out he was abusing her son Luke. They're the main points anyway! And Carene, the 18:35 episode on the 24th is scheduled at that time due to cricket. |

Cheers for that Chris.
Someone told me they never found Diane's body. Its my theory she narrowly escaped death but lost her memory. Eventually she found her way to Ireland where she aquired a new accent and went to a Police Academy before applying for a job at Sun Hill Why did the helicoper crash into the garage? Was there a YTS trainee piloting it or was Josh firing stones at it from a catipult or something? What's in its place or was it rebuilt? A cul-de-sac is not really a likely place for a filling station is it? ric9380

helicopter crash
i was there when they filmed the helicoptrer crash because i work closley with writer roy boulter. it was the most spectacular stunts ive ever seeen. and the descisionto write alan gorden out was because the actor got fired because he was touching up one of the younger actresses. he was fired with imediate effect and his exit had to be hastily rewritten

Why did the helicoper crash into the garage? |

I hope Brookside does stay on TV. Iv not really watched it since it got moved to Saturday afternoons, but if it got put back to how it was or in an early evening slot then id definitely start watching again.
I absolutely loved the seige and the helicopter crash, i think they were realy fantastic scenes. brookside always knew how to do brilliant things like that. Take a look at the gas explosion, the millenium club bomb etc! Ill just put a warning here in case people dont all ready know then dont read on: Considering that brookside won three awards at the soap awards on Saturday, then i think Channel 4 should think very carefully about whether to axe it or not as it is obvious a lot of people still watch and enjoy it! |

Typical, and here's me thinking that Brookie was being given a a special privelidge (sp) by channel four (doh!!)Quote:

Really??? I wondered about the hasty exit!

They could of done what they did last year, and show it at 13:30 on a Tuesday afternoon if they really wanted to be nasty! So a prime-time Saturday slot might be an indication that C4 still has some interest in Brookie. |

Well after seeing the Helicopter crash again, i'm so dissapointed it didn't win.
Coronation Street - a physcho drives a car into a canal. He dies. Everyone else is ok. Brookside - A physcho shoots down a police helicopter, which lands on top of some cars and causes a great deal of tension - will the helicopter roll over and cause a huge explosion? Well, we know it does, and the scene itself is amazing - the direction, sound, slow motion, everything about it. Shame. |
