I am interested to know if you think these changes will turn off the Uk viewers, who tend to go for the more edgy storylines.

I don't think so.

Neighbours was at it's most popular here when it was in the laid-back, family orientated style that it is once again going to assume.

I'm confident the show will now enter into a very successful period. The move to Five will also be excellent for the show's profile - the network is going to give it the huge promotional push it needs and that the BBC never wanted to give it.

I dont think the changes will put off UK viewers, it was very popular when it was last like this, I do think the show will lose viewers regardless when it moves to Five though

Hopefully for the shows future this will get more Oz viewers watching (although it still up against 2 very popular shows)

*From 23rd July (Oz pace) we see the episodes being filmed in HD.
Just to clarify this bit

Is it going to be shown in HD from that date (the new episodes are already done and ready to be aired)

or

They are going to start filming on that date, for airing in about September

I am really looking forward to it going back to its roots. The OTT storylines (mainly based around Paul robinson ) were just a joke and totally ruined neighbours. Bombs, kidnaps etc... it's hardly typical ramsay street now is it?

Episodes from July have been filmed in HD but will not start to be broadcast in HD until January.
