I got this album a few weeks ago.
Great songs. But, as an old git, I DO recognise some riffs from other songs. One track is a dead ringer for Jimi Hendrix 'Voodo chile'. another one has the riff from the old chicago song 'Im a man', and another uses the same chord sequence as 'wonderwall'. still minor points though, a great album, and I LOVE the production!, sounds like the sort of production used in late sixties/early seventies metal/rock. |

I can't remember the song title, but one of the tracks on their first album has a intro which sounds exactly like Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box.

A great album that's hardly been off my stereo since I got it.
It was a life saver for me last night. I was sat in a waiting room and had to sit through the whole of the new Fleetwood Mac album. It was the most BORING stuff I think I have ever heard. By about track 3 I really was losing the will to live! But when I got out I just whacked on "Elephant" and boy didI feel better for it!! |

I feel really miffed like I'm missing something. The album was raved about , so being an adventurer I bought it an I've listened to it a couple of times, but I don't seem to get it. It sounds to me like a bad school band.
Now I feel as everyone seems to love it I am missing something, so i havent given up on it - i will continue to give it a try (I know certain sounds grow on you) so do you think i will get it and learn to love it in time or was it an instant - "Oh my god thats brilliant " for you all? |
