Shed Seven have a new single out this week but it's only on sale for this week only. I think that this is a clever plan to get into the charts. They have a large fan base and also when The Doves did this last year loads of people bought it and put it on eBay to make a few quid.

Like The Doves record the Shed Seven single 'Why Cant I Be You' is only 99 pence. Radio airplay has been limited as they are not in the cool list of bands (Coldplay / White Strips etc) even though it is a great song, so it'll be interesting to see how it does on Sunday. A mate who works in HMV Oxford Street says it has been flying off the shelves and the record company didn't press enough copies !

Yes still going strong. Exactly what I mean though - with no airplay people don' t know they are still around.

Bloody hell....Crispin Mills. What a completely deluded, self-obsessed monkey boy.

The Sheds rule though...did they release an album off the back of "Cry For Help" or was it just a single? I would do anything to find the video for that song - it features York and pretty much everywhere i go!

Cry For Help was the first single off 'Let It Ride' - their last studio album. Another album is out in November. I think I remember York being in the video. They love living in York and have got their homecoming gigs soon there.
Always got time for the sheds, nice bunch of lads.

afx237vi - Menswear are long gone, but Crispin Mills has a new band. I dont think he'll be troubling the top 40 for a while yet though.

Menswear....aw, I loved "Being Brave".

But they were mostly just a bunch of indie hairstyles who hung out at The Good Mixer.

Kula Shaker - they started off being cool and regressed to being a complete joke in a very short space of time (was the chorus of their most famous hit "Kooky Bagel Bagel Snackbar"???)

P.s - great to see the Sheds about again.

Nope, 'Let It Ride' was their (third?) album, with the standout song being 'Chasing Rainbows'. It was released back in about '97. 'Cry For Help' didn't surface till about two years ago!

Anyone?

I stand corrected - 'Cry For Help' was off 2001s 'Truth Be Told'.The album also features 'If The Music Don't Move Y'er' - a great moshing tune if ever I heard one.

I saw Crispin Mills perform with his latest band 'The Jeevas' a couple of months ago. They're very good by all accounts.

Have I missed the Shed Seven single? It's not a cover of the old Cure song of the same name is it? I loved that song.
