SONY RDR-HXD1065 and the return of the 118 men
Sype

I have just started putting episodes of lost on my hard drive onto dvds. i was very carefull when editing out the adverts to create a nice join. these edits look good during playback from the hard drive. but after burning to dvd the 118 men at the beggining and at the end of the adverts have reappered.
wonded if any one else had noticed this?
Not a big problem but the 118 men are realy annoying

Sorry I took a whole year to discover this post! From what I have heard, the high speed dubbing is the reason. Those ads reappear for a few frames because the high speed dubbing copies the frames in "blocks" of several frames at once and the masking off effect on an edit is lost. Not all the frames are removed during an A-B edit but the "mask" hides them to give a frame accurate edit.

Now... the cure. If you dub at normal speed, you should be OK. The same has happened to me and there are references to this in the user manual.

Happy copying!
