What, pray tell, is wrong with having a baby with your friend, whether they be gay or straight?

I think it's great that the BBC director general, is putting the quality and standards of EastEnders, ahead of increased ratings.

Interesting that the BBC think it's too weak! and not the other way around. Either way, although Eastenders has improved i think it's going to suffer ANOTHER knock, now that Stella and May would have left.

Yeah but EastEnders is more or less doing five episodes a week now anyway as each episode is something like 28 minutes in length while the likes of Corrie and Emmerdale are normally only about 23 minutes per episode.

Great, we have another soap v soap thread. Well done OP.
I don't think EE needs 5 episodes. It's fine as it is. |

'EastEnders — whose stars include June Brown who plays Dot Branning — has seen ratings drop to a record low in May of four million viewers.' It's a complete warping of the facts, using an isolated rating to give the impression that EE is a soap in crisis. It's not, and has been performing consistently well recently. Grr, this kind of thing really annoys me! Back to the topic - I'm glad EE isn't going five nights. I think it's the right decision. |

I think the BBC will increase EE to five nights a week next year; because of the loss of Neighbours. They will have to try and maintain their ratings share, and an extra addition of EastEnders will help them.

The Liverpool based soap, has not bee confirmed as Neighbours replacement. This new soap might not gain the sort of ratings that Neighbours does.
