Hello all,
I'm in the market for a DVD/HDD recorder with digital tuner, and I see that Sony have two interesting machines on offer: the RDR-HXD970 and the RDR-HXD1070. Both appear to be available with multi-region in the UK, but the Sony website does not have the manuals available for download, and doesn't even mention the larger of the two.
My questions:
1. Apart from the larger hard disc, and the larger price tag, what differentiates the 1070 from the 970?
2. Since I need a multi-region version, and such are not readily available here in Germany, I would probably need to order one from the UK. Are the digital TV systems compatible (analog has been switched off here), and what channels/frequency bands does the tuner in the UK version cover? The tech.specs. for the 970 mentions PAL B,G,D,K,I and SECAM D,K and L(!) for the analog tuner, but does not mention the bands (i.e. VHF Bands I & III, UHF etc).
