Ok, I'm talking about album tracks here! My fave has to be "Leave me alone" off her first album "Left of the middle."

What about you?

I still cant beleive that Beuty on the fire didnt get to number one, its one of the best songs I've heard for a long time, althought the album version is better than the single version.

Pigeons and crubs is a highlight from Left of the middle, but I think white lillies island is amazing and still listen to it more than any other album.

There isn't a single album track that can touch either "Torn" or "That Day".

I don't allow songs from the last five years in my personal lists of favourite songs, but as soon as "That Day" matures it goes into my top ten of ALL time.

"Torn" is possibly the most perfect pop song ever too.

I WAS AMAZED! I couldn't believe it only got as high as number 26! Yes, the album version is much better than the single version!

Think we've discussed this before. It's a great song, alright, but Imbruglia has little to do with that. Ednaswap is the band that wrote and performed the song, and their version is great. But even if you wanted a poppier version, there's little between Imbruglia's and the earlier versions by Trine Rein and Lis Sørensen - in fact, they're close to indistinguishable. None of the other singers had been in Neighbours, though, or had eyes quite as reminiscent of a wee bunny rabbit's.

From Left Of The Middle - Pigeons and Crumbs and Left of The Middle.

From White Lilies Island - Butterflies and Everything Goes (yes that is the inspiration for my DS user name!)

I made a fantastic compliation of all her B sides. The best ones are Tomorrow Morning, Just Another Day, Contridictions, Hide Behind The Sun and Broken Thread.

the title track of her first album, 'big mistake' & 'impressed' i'd argue were her best album tracks (and all quite different in style). wrong impression's my personal favourite from her followup album.

the mark fox remix of 'smoke' is possibly my favourite of her songs (a b-side on one of the singles). 'tomorrow morning' & 'frightened child' are also very good (and again single b-sides).

I'm not arguing that Imbruglia is the best pop performer ever. I'm arguing that Torn is possibly the most perfect pop song of all time. I'm not bothered who recorded it. If it comes out that it was actually Val Doonican on lead vocals, it would still be the greatest song ever.

I like Torn as well, but can I be an absolute heathen and say that I actually prefer the Alistair Whitehead remix?!?

I've never heard it, but sometimes remixes are better!
