Hi,

I'm thinking of moving my home phone service from BT to the Post Office and i'm just wondering if this would have any effect on my broadband.

The Phoneline at the moment is in my Dad's name and he's long gone and the only reason i've not changed it is because I was told it would cancel my broadband.

Now i've read the Post Office FAQ's on their website and the answer to my question is NO, it would not effect the broadband. But i'm just wondering if I signup using my DETAILS would that effect my broadband then.

As long as the PO don't take ownership of the line then you should be OK. And by the way - the PO's services will, very soon if not already, be EXACT copies of BT's services.

The Post Office will take over your line rental and there should be no problems using your broadband service over the line (in theory) however some isp's would rather you have a line rental with BT to use their service and some line providers wont allow other isps over their lines. Sometimes its best to check with the providers concerned.
