Didn't Willie Rushton narrate Trap Door?

The first one into my head was Jamie and the Magic Torch.
I also liked Magilla Gorillla, Secret Squirrel, Atom Ant, Roger Ramjet, Wacky Races, The Flintstones, The Jetsons...
Which reminds me, I should watch Cartoon Network more often.

My absolute favourite was Chorlton and the Wheelies, though that wasn't a cartoon.

From my childhood, there can only be one candidate, namely Peanuts and the various Charlie Brown/Snoopy shows. Sheer brilliance.

Some modern cartoons deserve a mention though, such as Futurama, the Simpsons (old episodes), Family Guy. I also find myself watching Batman of the Future and XMen-Evo on CNX .

A lot of my favorites have already been mentioned, but in semi-chronological order (i.e. the order I progressed through them growing up):

- Jamie & The Magic Torch
- Spider-Man (various incarnations, but especially Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends)
- The Little Green Man
- Transformers (all incarnations)
- He-Man & The Masters of The Universe
- Inspector Gadget
- Telebugs
- The Trap Door (saw it this morning at 6am on Channel 4... I'm amazed at how well it's held up.)
- Dogtanian & The Three Muskehounds
- Around The World With Willy Fogg
- Robo Story
- The Real Ghostbusters
- Count Duckula
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- The Simpsons (1990-1996)

Yes, I watched a LOT of cartoons as a kid, and I lapped up anything to do with space and robots in particular. As a writer and comic artist, I'm amazed at how much everything I do now has its roots in what I was watching then, even when I'm not consciously aware of it.

lots of what has been mentioned already, plus the mysterious cities of gold (never did see the ending to it, making my recent find on the net rather tempting given a repeat is unlikely...)
having grown up with it transformers will always be the 'bestest' though (and tf:the movie is *still* the best animated flick i've seen!)

I've got all of the MCOG episodes on my computer except 2. There were 39 in all and I have the end!

Also, there was Care Bears (!)
M.A.S.K. (..crusaders working all the time, fighting crime)
Pole Position
Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors(...with Flora the plant girl)
Battle of the Planets
Dungeons&Dragons

I loved Willy Fogg, Thundercats and especially Ulysses 31 (Umi the psychic kid used to give me nightmares) but have never managed to get hold of it.

Transformers the Movie is superb and still stands the test of time after 17 years. I also have my hands on the begginning of Transformers series as well.

They all made me the man I am today! (Shnarf-shnarf!)

Well The Flintstones were the modern stoneage family. We say modern, we mean Fifties stoneage family. Not quite the same but we can forget it cause everyone loved the flintsones.

Thundercats, Ho! You know that the hottest comicbook in america at the moment is 'Thundercats Vs. Battle of the Planets'. It's a funny old world isn't it?

Silverhawks. by the thundercats people. Silverrrrrrrhawwwwwks! Yeah baby.

Willy Fog. Anyone else send away for the lyrics to singalong the theme song?

Mysterious Cities of Gold. Esteban and friends were favourites for sure. Was it me or did that show seem to last forever.

Masters of the Universe. By filmation studios, home of many a cheapo cartoon. And then followed by the not-as-good spinoff, He-Man. And She-Ra? Now there was a babe.

Bravestarr. Eyes of the hawk, strength of the bear, speed of the puma, smell of the skunk. or something like that. Made by filmation again.

Transformers; in the middle of Timmy Mallet's WACaday. ah memories!
Transformers the Movie is of course a classic. and will forever be have a place in history, remembered as Orson Welles' last film.
And yet, GiJoe The Movie by the same people was the maddest load of gubbins i have ever seen. Can't win them all.

Spider-man and his Amazing Friends
Incredible Hulk
Pole Position
Dungeons and Dragons. All greats from Mike Reid's Saturday Superstore.

Centurions, PowerXtreme! As designed by Jack 'The King' Kirby.

MASK- Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand. From the Wide Awake Club. Was Mike Myers presenting then? Don't remember. I know that Tommy Boyd was, of course.

Galaxy High. That was cool too.

Teenage mutant NINJA turtles. Why hero, whats wrong with ninjas. Is it coz dey wear black? Dat was well racialist, innit? I mean come on, who didnt watch the turtles? cowabunga!

The Critic. Starring the underrated Jon Lovitz. "It Stinks" But it was great.

Don't know if anyone else has heard of them but, "Two Stupid Dogs". A Hanna Barbera cartoon from a few years ago, starring two well, stupid dogs. It was inspired insanity and was just great. Do the Cartoon Network still show it? God I miss that show. I just hope that it crops up on DVD.

Family guy. OH yes. Everyone needs to get the DVD. Highly recommended. You will not regret it.

And THE single most brilliant television programme ever, the simpsons. WooHoo! On that subject alone i could talk for days.
