There's a certain artificial familiarity that comes with seeing people on television. They're in our territory, our living rooms. ADWD is on my laptop, for crying out loud, so everyone on the show feels familiar. But I don't know them - and more importantly, they couldn't care less about knowing me.

I've bought a ticket. Okay, TWO. Hey, I'm coming all the way from Texas, I'm entitled. Speaking of entitled, do you know what that ticket entitles me to have? A seat in a theatre for two hours. Full stop.

This sounds like a broken record (for those of you young enough to know what that sounds like), but Lee Mead could honestly not give a stuff about me - and he's NOT SUPPOSED TO. At the end of the show he's done his job and he deserves the same peace and quiet as anyone else. When performers choose to do the stage door meet-and-greet, that's a gift, not an inalienable right we have as ticket-holders.

The point I'm trying to make is this: those of us who say we admire Lee should treat him with admiration. Or even basic politeness. Let's put our money where our mouths are and not put the poor guy in a position where he'll start HAVING to be abrupt when fans cross the line.

I can remember the smell of his dressing room but can only describe it as slightly sweaty young man! I could detect no discernable deodorant smell but no horrid BO either.

Perhaps it was like a lemon tree orchard on a hot day in Greece with a faint smell of old leather thrown in....

For the most part of the show, he played Joseph very innocently and naively. When he was seduced by Mrs Potiphar he looked scared and vulnerable not anything like we've seen him on ADWD. I thought he would be maybe like in Daydream Believer but he was much more vulnerable than that.

I liked him best when he was in Jail and then onwards, confident, angry, naughty, deceptive Lee is the best IMO!

His singing was beyond fantastic. My husband commented a few times on how perfect his voice was and he calls him a curly haired to$$er the rest of the time

So we saw a wide range of acting and different 'Lees' and just beautiful singing. Honestly if they don't do a cast recording, then they're bonkers to say the least. On this note, have you and everyone else emailed RUG to ask them to do one? I think if they get suitably bombarded, they will!

I think the chest was waxed for ADWD as they all were.

Lust is weaker, admiration and like is stronger. Still fancy him a bit, but no, not as much. I tend to build up a bit of a fantasy, and then when I meet them they tend to disappoint because of course they don't fancy the pants off me and whisk me off my feet like they do in my imagination.

I'd say he looked less muscley than I remember from the TV (I'll have to watch my vids again!), but of course on telly they put lots of makeup on the body as well as the face so it's a bit unfair to compare with.

Row A was fabulous and the stage was easy to see. No cricked neck! And at the end everyone stood up and danced and of course I had no-one blocking my view. My eyes were about lever with Lee's knees sitting down and his loinclothed area when standing

I was on Lee's left as he looks out, and I did think there was more of him facing the other way, but I guess you always think that if you're slightly to one side of the theatre. We chatted a lot to the French Horn player in the orchestral pit (Hello Dave!) and he offered to take me to the after show drink but I'm glad I didn't go in the end. He may've organised for me to get the scarf though as I said I wanted to meet Lee and he said he'd see what he could do.

Dave (French horn) gave me his Godiva chocs which Lee had given him though. I have now scoffed them. Yumm!

Yes, he did do some dancing. For this I was perhaps a little too near to get the full benefit of it. He looked good, but had ADWD been a dance comp, then Ben would've won it even if he does stick his bottom out a lot!

Lee will get better at the dancing as he relaxes more, I'm sure of this.

I think Lee is naturally a bit of a podger, but with careful dieting and exercise he looks great. The polar opposite of people like Lewis who always look skinny and unless they take a load of steroids won't put on muscle.

His legs have got chunkier from working out - my husband tells me this is normal (he's a bit of gym bunny himself), but I share others' concerns over the muscle building powder he had in his Dressing Room.

None of what I saw looks out of proportion though!

Ooops sorry about that. I didn't know he was supposed to be on Radio 2, but as a licence payer I got value for money!

couldn't resist making some comments on here...

I have been reading Talantra's post review... as I was reading it, I realised that this was the person that was sitting next to me... My girlfriend and I were sitting in A13/A14 - with Talantra next to my girlfriend...

I agree with everything she has to say about Lee Mead and the actual production... I'm gonna be cheeky here... the scarf that Pharoah/Elvis threw was also meant for my girlfriend - it was her he was looking at when he threw it, and my gal felt that Talantra had snatched it away...but hey, it doesn't matter really, I wanted to set that record straight!

What a fabulous night we all had eh Talantra? Especially when we were all up dancing and clapping at the end, god my hands hurt afterwards!

What was also great about the night was the end seemed extended... in other words, lasted longer than it probably should have done... we got an extra song by the cast, which was bril. Afterwards, we got photos took with Bill Kenwright and autographs (a great chap) and yes; Talantra, I was there when you told Bill they should have noticed Lee before - his expression was hilarious, and was great when he said - 'he was my pharaoh'. I also had the honour of meeting Sir Andrew who was rushing through the foyer with his bodyguards - he didn't stop to speak but he clearly smiled at me and nodded his head (to a fan such as myself, that was a honour alone) and then, we all got kicked out by some chap, and the police telling us to get back... I was directly next to the door, busy with my elbow in some poor ladies neck - it was so cram packed... got some good footage of Lee Mead on my phone and a few piccys!

I agree, it is harmless, but with Lee's natural body shape he doesn't really need it. Look at his mum and dad, they're hardly 'little people' are they?

That stuff costs a fortune too. I don't want to see Lee wasting his money when he now has a mortgage to pay.

I CAN CONFIRM that everything Talantra said was true - I know, I was sat next to her

Ignore her all you want, but she has a valid point. Lee's too polite to do what a seasoned performer would do: sign an autograph, point the visitor toward the door, and make sure someone's assigned to keep people out of his private space.

The stage door is the closest thing we get to territory. Anything that lies beyond that door is none of our business, no matter how much we want to see it. The fact is that the performers shouldn't be disturbed while in their own domain.

Did Lee have anything to gain from this experience other than an interrupted conversation, photos taken while he was still damp from the show, and having a stranger in the room while he changed clothes? I can't even talk about the impolitic notion of repeatedly calling him "podgy" and mentioning his flaws after he so kindly let you stay in his dressing room. And if anyone I'd ever played for found out that I'd helped a fan get backstage, I'd have gotten fired faster than you can say "Go go go Joseph."

I give you a lot of credit for ingenuity and nerve, but as for making it seem as if this were a good idea, not so much.

I *applaud* the comments of jcello and Corinna that have been posted to this thread and agree with their sentiments 100%.

And they have been far kinder in their comments than I will be.

Never, in my years of being a fan and attending stage doors, have I ever heard of somebody being as rude and obnoxious as you were in invading somebody's privacy.

I assume that Lee Mead did not know who you were and that you were not invited to his dressing room -- although please, feel free to correct me if this assumption is incorrect -- and, in fact you've alluded to the fact that it was assumed you were "somebody important".

Your behaviour cannot be condoned in any way. And I hope any true fan of Lee Mead's will recognize the fact that he deserves privacy and respect -- neither of which you have given him.

I hope for Lee Mead's benefit, that nobody else will consider engaging in such incredibly offensive behaviour.

I'm going with the assumption that she must know someone at the Adelphi, or this isn't actually the full story and it's not quite a case of just barging in. Because never in my life have I heard somthing like this either.
