I know it's supposed to damage CD-R audio discs, but has anyone tried to playback a CD-R audio disc in a Sony 336 DVD player?

I know that most DVD players might damage CD-Rs apparently.
Does it erase the data or something like that?

(I see the latest Thomson 4600 does state CD-r playback)

I've not tried cdr's on your player but on the Sony
DAV-s300 the player just does not recognise cdr's. They come up as no disk. Apparantly princo cdr's will work on all sony dvd players, I've not managed to get hold of any yet though Not through lack of trying....

by the way all cdrw's seem to work fine on my player.

I have a philips and that plays CD-R's and CD-RW as it should as it's stated as such on the box and in the instructions. CDRW great for testing home made VCD's

Found somewhere that sells those princo disks should be getting some in the post tommorow to try....Will let you know the outcome

Just to let you know, I tried those princo 80 mins CDRs and they work fine for both music and vcd's on my sony S300

I have heard that CD-R support should be added to the new range of Sony players due to be released soon (the low end model won't support them)
