I was there; Metallica were fine, but the acoustics of Wembley? Jeeze, do they SUCK!
My sister was at live earth on Saturday, she said the same. |

I think it definately depends where you are in the stadium.
Was at U2 in Manchester 2 years ago, and was right in front of the left speaker and the sound was fantastic. But last night I was in the upper tier about half way back and the sound was awful. Could only just make out the songs, was a good job I knew all of them, so could tell what was being played. But when Mastadon and Machinehead were on, the songs just all sounded pretty much the same!! (or do they all sound the same anyway?? lol) |

I was on the pitch on Sunday and i thought the sound was lousy towards the rear of the stadium, but was further forward for Metallica and their sound was much better, although admittidly they were the headliner.
Did anyone else think the stage could have been higher off the ground, was difficult to see the band and i spent most of the time watching the video screens (and i'm 6ft so not short by any means) |

The stage could have been a little bit higher. I could make them out most of the time but also watched the screens too. Was that right that H.I.M got booed too? I was tucking in to my £7.50 burger and chips when they were on!

The fact is that if you are further away from the stage you get all the reverberation from around the stadium f**king with the sound and the level's also weaker so it doesn't sound good.

HIM got booed - not much, but after each song there was a boo. Didn't seem to bother him though. Weird choice for warm up act though...

I was originally at the front, near the right hand side (sister was at the front left, right near the stage for live earth), we moved towards the rear to sit down a little later on (I was still recovering from being seriously sick earlier in the week). The acoustics at the rear of the arena were seriously lousy. At the front they weren't exactly spectacular either .... I'm remember when I went to the old wembley years back to see a bunch of artists (Rod Stewart, Seal, Jon Bon Jovi, etc.), and the acoustics were excellent back then. |

I was next to the dug-out area on the right hand side as you faced the stage (about half way back) and the sound was excellent - certainly better than the two occasions I saw Guns N' Roses at Wembley in the early 90's. But it wasn't so good for the supports.
I think the higher up and further to the back that you get, the more the sound echoes and distorts. Can't see myself ever accepting going to see a gig a Wembley Stadium if I'm near the back or on the top tier, then. As for the view, I even found that better than other venues. Saw much more of the gig than I did for the Red Hot Chili Peppers at Earls Court last year, although I still wonder why they don't make the stages much higher at the bigger venues. |

Wasn't a either, but have found a big prob with acoustics recently.Only Ones at SBE had appalling acoustics, but never really seen this at wembley.Saw Devo at Brighton Dome and the sound was the best I've ever heard
