As the title suggests Vodafone have decided to give its PAYG customers the same internet pricing as contract users!

Great news!

Well spotted mate, i never thought of that. . .NOT!

My point is, its the same as Orange and T-mobile.

So if you want £1 internet all day you have more choice of networks now, and to be honest a better network.

The big question for me is that does Vodafone's £1 a day internet offer on Pay as you go allow you to use the mobile phone as a modem for a laptop computer to browse "normal" internet with (as Orange allow) or is it restricted to using your handset only (as is the case with T-Mobile)?

If its the former, then to me it looks quite attractive.

Edit: Looking at Vodafone's website, it looks like you can but are restricted to 15MB a day, which is a bummer.

You can use it for modem access, but like you said its limited to 15 Mb, however Orange don't actually allow modem access. At least your not supposed to. Plus orange is charging £2 per day i believe.

You can buy an Orange Extra to allow unlimited Internet access for £1 that lasts up until midnight of the day you buy it (or £5 for a week). I've never seen it under their terms and conditions that it doesn't allow modem access, and newsgroup postings seem to confirm this. In saying that, you're restricted to using GPRS, you can't use the 3G service for it.

When i was on Orange i could use the £1 extra for 3G access, it does state in the T&C's its not for 3G use, but trust me it does work.
