Anyone wondered what Hollyoaks looks like on BBC America, after reading the news report on DS that BBC America picked it up?

Here's a clip:
http://watelevision.com/site/upfiles...BBCAmerica.mp4
(20mb) (May need VLC Player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc )

Notice how they are 1 year behind, and don't show the blue opening titles (from last year) instead a shortened version of the early version of the opening titles early this year.

Thanks for that.

I didn't think you could get any cheesier than the new H/O titles, but I think that "previously on Hollyoaks" segment at the beginning is a whole lot worse.

BBCA has toned down A LOT from last year. The DOG has now been replaced to look like a typical US channel which, in my opinion, is disgusting. Late TV used to be a lot better too. Now it's turning into something like HGTV. But, I guess it's because of PBS not only picking up the BBC's docs, dramas, and comedies (And Channel 4, ITV, etc), but picking up their viewers aswell. I mean, yes, there's a HUGE percentage of people that have BBCA, but how many exactly watch it? At least in Dallas (who's PBS carries the most BBC produced shows in the nation, was the first to broadcast Flying Circus), there's more demand for the stuff BBCA no longer shows. And if I'm not mistaken, BBCA recently changed their programmes around as to not clash with some of the PBS stations (like taking off Benny Hill, Monty Python; shows that they've played to death) who were also playing these shows having the same episodes shown in the same week as BBCA. Each PBS pays around $1,000 or more for each programme, and if BBCA is playing it, it's wasting a huge precentage of their public funding.

On the note of Hollyoaks, I think with Eastenders's recent (well, two years at least) entry into PPV, it might seem that it could happen with it aswell. Soaps have not been so good for BBCA in the past mainly because of its lack of advertising on other channels. Yes, some of the recent dramas have been on other channels, but it's not until they appear on the more known ones that it'll take off.

Looks like it`s the end for Hollyoaks on BBC-A. From August 1st, it will only be shown once at 4.30 pm Monday-Friday.
It`s only a matter of time before Hollyoaks goes the same way as EastEnders when it was on BBC-America - down the pan after the show was put in a different time slot.
It`s so disappointing as I really got hooked on it.

Ooh thanks for showing us that! It's interesting to see they have the 'previously', but if there are two episodes in a row is there really any need! I thought it was well done though! I guess they'll show the proper credits around the same time it was introduced here?
