I was some what supprised* to hear Steve Allen(LBC) announce Alex will be reporting on bb4 for LBC. I was only half listening, so I'm assuming its mainly for Steve's shows. Although reports tend to get repeated in other shows sometimes.

Steves shows......8 to 10 pm fridays, and through the night...... mon to thurs...1am to 5am

* only because I thought he was distancing himself from the show. However LBC is an excellent station....for the discerning listener.

I'm sure if LBC big brother 4 reporting is the only bb4 work Alex has accepted then he is probably being paid well for it as that would be exclusive to LBC.

LBC has been doing really well since its recent complete relaunch following its acquisition by Chrysalis. Its audience is continuing to rise significantly and attracting the younger demographic too; revenues are soaring.
Admittedly its AS remains low at present, but it's the trend that is important, and the new LBC is clearly a winning station going from strength to strength.

In contrast, Capital's audience continues to markedly decline, it's issued profit warnings, its share price has been plummeting, last week it was downgraded by investment houses such as Merrill Lynch and UBS. Oh dear.

Bwahahaha.
The issue of how high profile ex-contestants are in commentating on a new BB series is no direct correlation of their respective success.
Indeed, arguably the opposite. It is widely perceived as a rather sad desperate attempt to eke out their 15 minutes of fame, and mainly the preserve of those who need it most. For example, Narinder, Bubble, Paul, Elizabeth etc were high profile commentators in the national press last year, whereas Brian conspicuously was not.

Thus contrary to your point, one can reasonably argue that the level of profile as a BB commentator is inversely related to their need to continue to rely on the BB connection for publicity. After all, it is generally agreed that distancing oneself from the BB tag is desirable for long term credibility.

To be honest I'm a little surprised Alex is getting involved at all, but if he is, then by doing it in a relatively low profile way which would not be noted nationally, Alex avoids that danger of attracting any 'ex-contestant cashing in' negative image. The real winner, then.

Its fairly obvious to all that Alex has extremely poor presention skills, and with every TV appearernce his credability as a presenter goes down drastically. He should stay away from prime time TV until he has been taught the skills needed, I think the LBC show is a fantastic way he can learn about these skills without exposign himself to ridicule. Once this, hopefully minor, apprentership has been served, he will have a careeer to rival Kates (perhaps even superceed it)

I only hope and pray Alex is able to learn these skills. Please God, help Alex in his time of need.

Not that surprised. It used to be great but the music they play now is just not to my taste at all. Likewise Virgin - they only ever seem to play half a dozen artists.

I don't have any problem with ex-HM's commenting on BB, to me it seems a natural thing to be doing and in no way reduces status or potential to progress.
Firstly, they will probably be interested to see how the next lot fair as compared to themelves and their companions, I know I would, and so will be watching anyway.
Secondly, It probably doesn't take up too much time, an hour or so at most each day, and so therefore doesn't prohibit taking on other work.
and thirdly, it's probably quite good fun, critising rather than being critised, after all it's only really a professional version of what we are all getting so excited about doing here.

It is something they are perfectly qualified to do, and I find it exteemly interesting to hear to views of a person who has been through the whole proccess themselves.
(BTW DEADDOG, are you sure you've not watched the video's of Alex's performances in reverse order? )

How rude.
Many of the ex-HMs are commenting on BB4 for TV, radio or the press. Nichola introduced her column in the Sport (UK tabloid) full-frontal wearing only a small pair of pants.
Interestingly, Kate has been hired by RI:SE largely for her BB insights and has also introduced herself by showing us her pants.
I simply wondered if Alex would be adhering to the same dress code for his own media triumph; alas as he is on the radio, we may never know.

Hope this clarifies!

The Sport is cheap piece of rag that relies on cheap titillation for sales. The fact Nichola wearing little for her Sport column is hardly surprising.

As for Kate, Kate flashing her pants is hardly news is it.

Just because 2 ex-housemates choose to promote themselves this way, does it mean every housemate has to ????

I can't remember Paul,Helen,Narinder and Bubble doing this.

From what I gather LBC is a small but respectable radio station besides what's the point of Alex being topless on radio ???
