Jade Goody has been voted the biggest Big Brother star of the show's three series to date.

1st Jade Goody
2nd Kate Lawler
3rdBrian Dowling
4th Spencer Smith
5th Alex Sibley

(poll run by internet firm Ask jeeves)

well done Spencer, considering the other 4 stayed for nine weeks its a huge compliment, to be rated 4th, well done.

It's not quite so funny, when you remember Alex has beaten Spencer in nearly all the BB polls held so far, maybe if Alex fans had known about the poll in the first place, as Kate and Spencer fans seem to, Alex would easily have been number one, but to me Alex is number one and always will be.

HAHA, I only had a slight chuckle, as if these polls *really* count. I just wanted to make Eejays cheeks red

But something we can unite on.....

2nd Kate Lawler

Has anyone got the link to this "poll".

Having missed all mention of it before it closed, and failed to find it on Ask Jeeves now, I'd like to have a shufty at the percentages.

Thanks.

Matter or not, I'd still like to see it. Come on, one of you must have the link.

Perhaps a smile might help....

'Ask Jeeves'.... My foot !!! How many people voted? The only peeps clicking on to that site are desperate teens that believe that site might be of some help to them whilst revising for their exams !!

These polls are everywhere & Alex has won plenty. Alex is a bigger star than that lot, Alex has earned more than that lot, Alex's presence in the House got the whole nation talking, Alex is a modern cultural icon!!! And that's what makes him the undoubted 'Real Winner' of BB3, with Jade in second place !

How can you be a 'fan' of someone who has never done anything whatsoever? Surely supporter is a more accurate description or at least was while the show was on.

I'd write a list of all the loads of stuff Alex has done, but it would take too long and I can't be bothered. But if you can tell us all how to earn the sort of mega-bucks he has since BB I'm sure we'll all be happy to buy you a drink as soon as we reach our first £500k.

That wasn't really my point but since you mention it, I'll tell you how. Become a contestant on Big Brother and milk it for all it's worth when you leave. Earning money from advertising off the back of a game show isn't an achievement.

....and I didn't mention Alex.

No, but you quoted this message and then replied to it!!

And Alex has done loads of presenting. More than Kate on the telly. The fact that you haven't seen it - apparently - doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. You're right about the advertising though. He's also done more of that than any of the other housemates...

That wasn't the part of the message I quoted. It was the use of the word 'fan' in relation to any of the housemates I was talking about, really I wasn't rubbishing Alex.

My point is that not one of them have done anything worthwhile.

I've said in another thread, I think BB contestants should be permitted 6 months to make as much money as they can like a kind of media trolley dash. Then they should do the decent thing and get out of our lives. ...I'll let Jade off only because she is unusually repugnant and the Ingrams Wife Swap program is going to be hilarious.

I never realised you were taking that post of mine so seriously JD, If I upset you that much by misusing the word fan , I suppose it's such a dreadful deed, that i must apologise.

Read my posts back Susann. ...Do I sound upset to you?

I was just making a simple observation about the way some of you say you are fans of year old game show contestants. I didn't even mean you specifically.

"such a dreadful deed" indeed, what are you talking about?

Yes you do sound upset, my use of smilies in my last post should tell you, not to take it seriously, I am not worried wheather you were referring to me or others as well. I was just making light of the post. The fact that you picked up on something as trivial as the word fan in a post that wasn't meant to be taken too seriously in the first place, to me says you are just being picky.

here's a definition of 'fan' especially for JD

"Enthusiastic admirer or supporter"

Have myself and others misused the word 'you decide'.

It may surprise some that a year on Jade still continues to be high-profile. Many expected her to fade rapidly into relative obscurity after the initial burst of publicity, like say Helen, but she hasn't and there's little sign that she will anytime soon.

I think there comes a point where someone reaches a critical level of impingement in the public consciousness, that they remain there permanently (or at least for a long time to come), and IMO Jade has probably reached that point.
Eg. the term 'jadeism' to mean an amusingly daft ignorant remark, has entered the popular lexicon (I wouldn't be surprised to see it included in future dictionaries);
her tv exposure is not from presenting programmes, but rather having programmes made about her (a sign of real stardom?)...... three already and a fourth one coming soon, conveniently timed to steal the limelight in the period immediately post-BB4.

Perhaps one can compare her to Jordan -- eg. both household names for reasons of notoriety, both creatures of the tabloids, both able to sustain their public spotlight simply because of who they are/what they represent and their place in the national psyche.

ps. Mesos might disagree with all this, but he's very welcome to.

Good comparison Mystic.

They are both what you'd call 'famous for being famous' ...Tara Palmer Tomkinson being another candidate.
