Very disappointing- when I arrived on thursday night I thought it was going to be the heir to the old-style Glastonbury ie beautiful surroundings but by yesterday (sunday) morning there was nothing to do but pack up and leave. I refused to put any more money in the Mean Fiddlers pockets or the cynical landowner who staged it. They treated everyone like mugs. They dressed it up as a green, environmentally aware event but ultimately were looking to scam even more money.

Rip-off £8 programme (and no signposts or on-site maps or running orders)
Rip-off plastic glasses scam- offering a commemorative version which you could take home- thus they keep the £2 deposit
Rip-off drink prices
Rip-off food (feeding a family of four cost at least £25 per meal)
Showers not working for two days
Poor music acts ie Damien Rice headlining?!
Latitude organisers may feel happy with the way things were done. Not me unless they change I ain't ever coming back

The line-up on their web site looks good, why did you leave on Sunday morning when there were some really good bands scheduled to play that day? Did they not play after all? What about the other days? Midlake, the Good, the Bad and the Queen, the Hold Steady, CSS, Joan As Police Woman, Bat For Lashes, Tinariwen... just picking people I'd have been keen to see, but there should have been plenty of others according to the advert.

Had you been before? I'd heard good things about last year's and only didn't go because of family goings on.

I ran out of money- would have meant a whole day without food and drink unless I walked the 30 mins back to the tent to imbibe. I really wanted to see the Sunday evening acts but I'd been there since Sunday and was filthy after 2 days with no showers working, the toilets weren't the best either, it all started getting a bit grim. The Good The Bad and the Queen were really amazingly dull. I was really surprised- I left during the second number and I rejoined my friends instead. CSS, Wilco and Tinariwen were all amazing though.

Sorry I can't agree with that. He's dullness personified and the sort of thing you'd have playing in the background at a dinner party. If he has to do festivals stick him on early imho.

Most of the acts were announced before the tickets went on sale. If you didn't like the line up, why buy tickets??

In the light of this thread I had a look at the Latitude Festival forums. There are some concerns raised there about the facilities, the number of attendees being too high, the showers, the high incidence of crime... sounds like the organisers have some work to do to turn it round.

Oh, and for some reason I always associate Damien Rice with Pret a Manger sandwich shops.

There were lots of good acts, plus comedy, caberet, film etc. But there were also alot of terrible acts this weekend- doesn't mean to say I forced myself to watch them.
I was looking forward to The Dears who were on the original line-up but they cancelled for some reason. Biggest surprise disappointment as I mentioned before was TGTB&TQ performance which had been one of the reasons I went and made me literally do a 180% on them.
