The Thrills new single and album
russellelly
16-07-2007
There's been far too little publicity about the return of The Thrills. Their new single, Nothing Changes Around Here, is out today. The new album Teenager is out in a week.

I really love the new single, it's very fresh and whilst you know it's The Thrills it's a little different to what they've done to date. Can't wait to buy my copy and get it signed this evening (they're in HMV Glasgow). Also looking forwad to getting my hands on the album.

Am I the only one excited?!

Erm..I've always been a bit-fan of the Thrills.

I'm not really particularly excited about the album, or single - which is good, but certainly not great.

They sound like a bit of a cheap indie/rock band having come out after the recent huge successes of the genre.

The whole album is available to listen to a week before release

I've been listening this for about a week. Some of the songs are starting to grate on me already.

I still think it's their best album so far though

Anybody been to see the lads in their current tour? Saw them the other night in Glasgow, they were fantastic. New single The Midnight Choir is released next Monday, and is probably my favourite song on the new album. See it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4eqsMWZaR0

Such a shame it isn't getting the airplay it deserves, and that the album isn't selling well

His voice makes me think of the nervous teenager in the Simpsons.

If he could sing it would sound like The Thrills.
Probably.

Thought So Much For the City was a wonderful album, if you ever drive along the coast on a summers day, this is the album to play. Beats the sh*t out of Pet Sounds in my book.

But....follow up was ok, a tad predictable. Latest stuff sounds rather dull. They were dire on C4 the other night, unplugged. Pity.

Loving the new album. Best song is 'I'm So Sorry', but also loving 'No More Empty Words' and 'Long Forgotten Song'.

The acoustic didn't work IMO - the vocals weren't on form and the whole thing never really worked. The album's very good, and they can play live well - I saw them only last week. Agree that SMFTC is a fantastic summer album - a few of the new songs would happily sit with them, others are different in tone.
