Fave Stone Roses* track
Easy peasy...One Love.
![]() *Kids, the Stone Roses were a Mancunian band a little before Oasis' time. Noel and Liam might have a few of their records, judging by how all their sound almost identical.

Thanks Mr P, I've dragged the first album out for a listen.
Depending on my mood its either I Wanna Be Adored or Made Of Stone Btw, surely you're not suggesting Liam may have based a teeny weeny bit of his act on Ian Brown crossed with John Lennon?

Made of Stone is an amazing song. I always think the lyrics sound like early Auden, but I'm sure I'm not the first to have had that brainwave. Early Auden was when he was all ominous, and wrote lines like "Something is going to fall like rain/ And it won't be flowers" and "It is later than you think". You don't get more ominous than Made of Stone: "Your knuckles whiten on the wheel The last thing that your hands will feel Your final flight can't be delayed..." Scares the hell out of me! (Hmmm, perhaps it's time to revitalise that "being pretentious about inisgnificant rubbish thread" over on GD... then again...) |

Thought they were terribly overrated personally but I'll go for Waterfall or I Am The Resurrection
Just editing to mention Made Of Stone as well.

Their 1989 album is without doubt the greatest debut of all time.
Each track is a bona fide classic but 'Made Of Stone' and 'This Is The One' are the greatest of the great |
