What Kodak camera to buy?
I currently have a Kodak EasyShare C330, which is a nice enough camera and produces some reasonably good pictures some of the time but doesn't really fulfill my needs entirely so I am looking to upgrade. With the camera came a Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 which I have to say is an excellent product for printing my photos, and that's the main reason why I would like to stick with Kodak. In other words my new camera must be compatible with the dock. From the cameras I've looked at so far my favourite has to be the V803, which looks like a great camera and there are some excellent examples of the quality of the photos it can take over on Flickr. Does anyone here have one of these or had experience with this camera? Or would you recommend another model? I would rather not spend more than £150 if possible, but may stretch to £200. Essentially though any suggestions would be much appreciated

I use a Kodak Series 3 Printer with a Canon Ixus 750. The (excellent, I agree) printer will work with any camera supporting Pictbridge using the side USB socket. Only thing is of course it won't charge a non-Kodak, but other than that it works perfectly. Current Kodaks use the G600 printer, which I **think** uses a different connector anyway, if so they would need to use USB too.
I've used a previous version of the linked camera (a V603 IIRC) and I wasn't overly impressed. It's fairly plasticy, and none of the features were anything special. A Fuji F30 should be in the price-range (though would need different type of memory card to the C330), can't think of any current Kodaks that really stand out, other than the 10x optical compacts (like the V610). |

Canon do camera and printer packages. I'm not impressed by the build quality of Kodak cameras either and their picture quality leaves alot to be desired.

I've also been looking at other cameras since I found out about PictBridge and quite liked the sound of the Sony Cybershot DSCW100. Sadly it seems to be out of stock in all my local Argos stores (probably because it's at such a good price!) So I think I'll go for the F30, which despite having less megapixels, seems to take high quality pictures and is good value for the price.

Well both the Fuji F30 and Sony Cybershot DSCW100 had been out of stock in my local Argos stores for some time, so I e-mailed them and they informed me that both products were being removed, and recently they have been removed from their website.
I can't see them listed on Currys, Comet or PC World either. Any other recommendations? |
