What makes you think it might not be?

www.skype.co.uk has Mac version of their software.

Not thought about buying an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) and connecting it to your router, or buying a slightly dearer one if you don't have a router. That way you can connect up your standard phones / dect phones and not even have to worry about a computer being switched on to make and receive calls.

If you have a router, a Linksys PAP2 can be bought cheaply of eBay (Make sure you go for a generic unlocked version, not one that was previously locked to Vonage).

There are Linksys PAP2 and Linksys/Sipura SPAs available from broadbandbuyer and broadbandstuff along with a couple of other retailers.

VoIP.co.uk offer a package of an ATA and UK calling package.

VoIPStunt.com, VoIPDiscount.com, VoIPCheap.com, VoIPtalk.org/reallyvoip , OrbTalk, Sipgate, DrayTel, VoIPBusterPro and a few other VoIP providers are worth a look at.

Choose one of the above SIP VoIP providers then use one of several SIP VoIP software available for MAC computers, if you are sure you want to use your computer for VoIP and not go the ATA route.

http://www.sjlabs.com/sjp.html is one.

http://counterpath.com/index.php?men...ts&smenu=xlite Is another one available to MAC users.

Skype offer a MAC version, but it along with Tesco are two of the dearer VoIP providers.
