I haven't posted here since last summer when we were all having problems with our 710s locking up.
well mine has behaved very well ever since but the last couple of weeks I've had a very strange error occuring while trying to dub titles from the HD to a DVD.
I started a dubbing last week, just under 2 hours worth. However, I checked my machine about 1 1/2 hours into the dub and noticed the unit had switched itself off.
I switched it back on and it turned out it had not completed the dubbing. Only the first 2 of the 3 titles I wanted to dub had actually been dubbed to DVD.
So I tried again, dubbing the 3 titles in the same order as before, but the exact same thing happened. The machine switched itself off and only the first 2 titles had been dubbed.
So next, after switching off and unplugging from the mains for 30 minutes, I decided to try dubbing the 3 titles, but in a different order. I decided to try dubbing the last of the 3 titles secong this time, and oddly the machine switched off again, this time only dubbing the first title. I can't figure out why, but it seems like there is a problem dubbing the last of the 3 titles I want to dub, even though it is really no different to the other 2 titles.
Eventually after several attempts I managed to dub all 3 titles sucessfully. I thoght that was the end of the problems but its happening again this week.
Each time I turned the unit back on it behaved as if there had been a full loss of power. The title list had gone back to the very top of the list of titles recorded and any programmes that I was half way through watching had lost the 'play/play beginning' option.
I even tried using different discs to dub to in case there was a problem with a particular type of disc but that made no difference.
I've had the maching since march last year and I suppose I do do a lot of dubbing to from the HD to DVD, i've also noticed recently that when I've played discs on the machine, they are very warm once I remove them from the machine, never really noticed this before. Is this my recorder basically getting old? (after16 months!)
Has anyone else experienced anything like this or know what the problem might be?
