Doomed to disappoint..... again?????
Zoom
22-05-2003
Reading the forum reminds me of supporters of third rate football clubs about a week before the season starts.

Hopes unrealistically high - 'This time we'll get promotion' etc

Rising excitement (steady zoom there's ladies present) as the kick-off draws near

And the reality of the inevitable string of mediocre, third-rate games, draws and defeats sliding down to the end of yet another dismal sub-average season.

BB3 was OK but the HM's were a pretty taudry lot really. The tasks were insulting and in reality it was third--rate viewing.

But we all WANT it to be GREAT - hope like mad this year will be better than last year. We might even win the lottery too

The Triumph of Hope over experience???? Just a thought

personally I think it's perfectly reasonable to have high expectations of BB... BB1 was great. BB2 was excellent. BB3 was goddam awful. Yeah - I'm hoping for at least as good a BB as 1 or 2 - that's not too much to ask is it? Surely they must have learnt enough lessons by now as to what made the first two good and the last one bad to get SOMETHING right for this series!??!

Let's just hope there is no outside interference.
The sort which saved Ms Goody's bacon ( no pun intended ) last year.

Any HM that that inflames the wrath of the nation should suffer the consequences IMO.

But the viewing figures suggest that what the great British public wants is BB3

More viewers, more phone calls, isn't that the bottom line ?

So should we not expect a dozen even more desperate wannabees with even more booze to fuel them

My glass is always half empty !!

Definitely. It's all about getting as much gutter press coverage as possible - cos that's what most of us read - as many voting calls netting them megabucks and all the other stuff - advertising, special magazines etc. Its a Money Tree

BTW Mine's a pint of Adnams Broadside ta

Sorry guys, but BB3 was the best one yet as far as I'm concerned. It didn't matter that they were all arseholes - they made for much more entertaining viewing than the year before. And after Nick left in BB1, it was bloody awful as well.

BB3 gave us a good mix, with some great moments from quite a few housemates.

BB2 gave us Brian (annoying camp git) and Helen (Sweet, but thick).

BB1 gave us Craig as a winner, which says it all.

Yes, I think we can see that I'm right - BB3 was indeed the best so far. Who gives a shit about tasks? As if I want to watch people bouncing around on pogo sticks for hours, or some mad old bat asking a dummy if it's okay after a meteorite has just landed in the garden, along with a telephone box.

people vote out the comparatively interesting people anyway, so they'd be just as well sticking in the least memorable people they can find.
to be interesting there needs to be some genuinely evil folk in there, and backstabbing/ganging up needs to be allowed. personally i though the bars they introduced last year (my girlfriend's a huge fan, so the live feed on e4's no stranger to me...) were a great idea - making them live in some fairly harsh conditions watching the rest eat stakes & drink wine was the most entertaining thing i seen (outwith the scottish guy pissing in the kitchen then escaping over the wall).

who knows, davina might even re-learn how to present without SHOUTING CONSTANTLY!!!

What a pathetic nation then, if the mob can be raised about something as damned harmless as appearing on a game show and talking about people behind there backs.

The irony was that Jade's Bacon was saved by the raising of a mob against another contestant....nice bit of editing by Big Brother......

It appears that your comments come back to the same point more than once though, about raising the mob. So let's just get it over with.

Hitler.

There. Done it.

Godwin's Law doesn't apply until a poster or contestant has been accused of being Hitler or a Nazi....the raising of a baying mob isn't quite there.....A baying mob burning pictures of a housemate would count......

What about people who look like an unpopular housemate being beaten up in the street?. does that count?.

I think there is an element of peopel saying every time - "Oh it's not the same this year. I can't be bothered with it. I've lost interest" etc. But I thoroughly enjoy it every year all teh time - I just love it and get excited by it.

There I've said it.
