I've been using www.Jajah.com over the past few days for really cheap international calls. My daughter's in the Middle East, plus I've made a few calls to European countries. It's web activated, and rings both phones. Yours first, then when you pickup it rings the other one. Conference calls seem possible too.

I put a fiver on it, with an automatic top-up when the credit goes below £1.25. So not much outlay. If a friend is also on Jajah, the call may be free. See the site for details.

Very competent service.

I've looked at it in the past, but I know no one else on there, so the savings wouldn't be great for me.

I use VoIPStunt and Sipgate on a PAP2 ATA.

I used Vyke whilst in Prague, I initiated a call via my mobile phone, I entered the payphone I was standing next to (tested that it accepted incoming calls first) and entered the landline of the person I wanted to call, the call cost around 2p/min, yes you can call mobiles and have it ring your mobile, but it's cheaper landline to landline.

There is a VoIP segment on DS, for this type of discussion.

Yes, I know it's VoIp. But it's VoIp which anybody with a phone, no need for broadband, can use - hence pointing it out here. Yes, you need an internet connection to initiate the call, but that's it. My Draytel VoIp is U/S at the moment - router problem - so Jajah has saved me a lot on calls to the Middle East, compared to landline. There's even a Firefox extension for it! I'm working on a plan to use it to call from Spain to Yemen cheaply when I'm on holiday!

Yeah, can be handy.

VoIPStunt and their sister sites also offer web call back.
