Don't know, but here's a few things to look out for....
(Not all DVD players are the same!) RGB/S-Video SCART 2nd SCART input L&R phono audio outs CDR playback DVD RW compatable MP3 playback Multi-Region remote hack ? (This you'll have to find out off the net as it's unlikely Comet will tell you anything on this) |

General things to add to the wishlist, depending on how far the budget stretches:
1. Progressive scan (you won't get it on the entry level players just yet but it's becoming more and more common). It's always good to be forward compatible, more and more displays (ie. anything which isn't CRT) do prog-scan, and interlacing is really best avoided if you can. 2. Having a choice of RGB scart+s-video+component connections helps, as does the choice of coax or optical digital outs to match whatever free sockets you have on your amp. 3. Multi-region is also rather useful, best bought pre-chipped (for a small fee, and only specialists, mail order or places like sevenoaks offer this), handset hackable, or even hacked by firmware "upgrade" (Harman Kardon the only make I know of which allow this). It's probably impossible to buy a bad player though, and it all depends on how good/big the screen you're connecting it to as to whether it's worth getting more than the basics, any of the big brands should do you fine. |
