Former HMs News.

BB4 is imminent. The pace of the forum has already increased. Threads will move off page 1 very quickly.

Following a discussion between several fms, we're hoping this thread can act as a focal point for information about former hms that would otherwise be lost in the fantastic (and welcome) BB4 flood. It is intended to complement BB4 and to co-exist within the forum.

It is not intended to deter anybody from starting their own thread. Indeed, a separate thread is probably desirable for 'big' news.
Nor is it intended to be a private club exclusive to fms participating over the past months. Everybody is welcome. However, I do have one request. Please, if you don't like the idea of the thread, simply ignore it. Interested fms will have the advantage of looking for a thread with a known name.

I feel sure the thread style will evolve. It will probably be a bit of a mish-mash. I'm hoping for a fun mixture of news, debate and banter. Please enjoy.

I'll start things off by giving the following links for some BB3 hms.

I saw a trailer a little earlier that Jade will be on GMTV tomorrow (Friday) at 8.35am, presumably with Lorraine Kelly. I don't know if it's a one-off or regular slot.

Just been to look at Jonny's website.

If you don't "maximise" the page the menu listing which says Book Jonny appears as Boo Jon

Thanks RG. It will be particularly interesting to see what effect the tabloid frenzy for the new hms has on the profiles of the BB3ers.

For the duration it seems that a number of them have 'jobs' on TV, Radio, Magazines or Press commenting on BB4. I know this happened to some degree in the past but I don't recall so many being involved to such a great extent.

In the meantime, it seems that the Kate/Jonny axis is working its magic on TV and Jade's mum goes from strength to strength...... I've almost got to the point where I'm confused who was in the BB3 house, Jade or her mum.... they seem to have become completely interchangeable.....

I was gobsmacked to discover that Jade's mum now has her own media agent

What is the world coming to ?

Watch out for the "proud granny" features in a few weeks time

I caught a snippet of it once. You're right, the poor lamb wouldn't stand a chance.

For anybody who's interested, and who missed it, here's my summary:-

She was interviewed for a few minutes only as part of a feature called Entertainment Today (is ET now on Friday with LK on other days?).

It was the more mellow Jade. My criteria are that I understood everything she said.

She spoke about being pleased that she went into BB and escaped her previous life. She was also relieved that she came out being liked rather than universally loathed (my words).

She was asked about the 'fight' with Kate. She said Kate said some things, I said some things, the papers bigged it up but we squared it (her words).
She then went on to say she was surprised it started again with the fitness videos, and then had a gentle gloat (entirely justified imo) that she won the sales battle.

The baby (unknown sex) is due in 6 weeks and she will be the GMTV BB correspondent for 10 weeks (I'll stick to the facts and leave the comments to others).
No times were mentioned, but it seems most likely that it will be Fridays only at 8.35am rather than daily.

P.S Going off-topic, I taped Jade and watched the Mel and Sue section of RI:SE. Mel was ill. Sue was several times funnier without her imo.

Jonny is due on RI:SE next week. I might actually look forward to possible mayhem for one day but I'm not entirely enthusiastic about a whole week.
Kate said today they were trying to get Alison on. I have reservations about this as well. She's not challenging Paxman for Interviewer of the Year, but, unlike him, she can be amusing in small doses imo. She can also be sensible if she tries.

I caught part of her being interviewed on This Morning. She said her reported £120K earnings were wrong, but then seemed to say they weren't that wrong. More importantly, she said she was very happy that her life had changed as a result of BB. I assume she'll be on This Morning daily for the duration.
I also caught last night's programme on five. I found the BB1 and BB2 elements interesting because I hadn't seen them before. However, i found the BB3 element more interesting if only to reflect that those who participated were the 'grumpy gang' of Tim, Sandy, Jackiey, Alex and Adele.

Before I get an onslaught of Angels (new collective noun) Alex' comments were mostly reasonable, balanced and not bitter imo. Nor am I saying the others haven't got valid viewpoints. All I'm trying to do is contrast between those who embrace BB (Alison, Jade, Kate and maybe Jonny) and the 'grumpy gang' who don't. Jackiey just has to be in the most untenable position of them all (but laughing all the way to the bank).

Kate is aware of her second surname, 'from BB', isn't embarrassed by it, but works to lose it. She'd be very happy with 'from RI:SE' now. She was effectively interviewed about BB by Iain on today's programme.
Despite my (alledged) rose-coloured perspective, I have clear lenses in when saying it gave me the best insight I've heard about BB, and it was only about what it's like being incarcerated in a hotel for a couple of days before the start.
RI:SE have sought out anoraks to view BB 24/7 and report. The public vote has produced a guy who seems interested, articulate and able to do the job imo. When Kate was first appointed, I assumed that this would be her role.

Whilst I am clear that she satisfies those criteria (well, most of the time anyway), I now think it will be much better to get her to provide the insider thoughts, just like they did today. Only a few people who actually know what it's like could do this (and maybe Keanu as well now).
We all know RI:SE are serious about BB and have provided the most comprehensive coverage in the past. It looks to me that they are aiming to do even better this year. It'll maybe take some of the presenting pressure off Kate, and this could have noticeable positive effects, when added to her undoubted effort and enthusiasm. We'll see.

Yes, you're right, I'd forgotten that. Sorry.

The grumpy gang comment only occurred to me after I'd nearly finished writing the post, and wasn't intended too seriously.

With the title of the programme, Grumpy rather than Happy was always likely.

The other grumps PJ, Spencer, Lee and Sophie had had their go earlier in the week. Or should that be Bashful, Sleepy, Dopey and Snow White respectively?

I don't know what Lee has to moan about

For a self obsessed muscle-bound vanity case he's got the perfect job, a girl who's far too good for him and he still gets himself on TV and in the papers.

He must think he's the dogs b*ll*cks. He used to think he was the bees knees but now he's gone up in the world

Yet more humbug from yet another ex-Housemate.

In this interview Jonny states that though he has never had any second thoughts about appearing in Big Brother, he feels betrayed by the makers of the Channel 4 programme and warns the new HMs to be careful.

'You can go in, be yourself & not put a mask on, and at the end of the day, they choose to show what they want to show anyway.......they might show you to the public as a manic depressive......I'd say to people going in the House to be aware of the editing when they come out......you can come out to be disliked by the public simply because of the way they edit it........the producers have their favourites and choose what they want....''

Eejay,
Congratulatins on the restraint you've exercised with the choice of your words. An interesting article imo.

For me, there's a bonus because the second half of the article includes a half-decent summary of hms' tv credits. This was something I started to try to do when I provided the website and radio links.
I abandoned it because it got too long and was always going to be wrong or incomplete or both. There's somebody else to blame for inaccuracies now.
