OK video I guess...how many vids does she plan to release, seeing as she's even named the 4th single 'Hate That I Love You' (ft. Ne-Yo)?

The video isn't great, but I really like the song. Where "Umbrella" and "Shut up and Drive" were growers, I liked this one instantly. Its a real summery song that just screams "fun".

For an artist like Rihanna, who is guaranteed to sell millions of albums, its not surprising that they plan 4 singles. If it continues to sell well, there could be as many as 6.

I can't seem to understand what all the fuss is about over "Don't stop the music", it's nothing special, just another club song, she would have done better to release "Breakin Dishes"

Also loads of singles isnt uncommon these days.50 cent has just released the 5th single from his new album (not due out till September) and there will be another 2 before then.

Nelly Furtado has just released 'Do It' as her new US single and ' In Gods Hands' for us britans. Not to mention a european release of 'Te Busque'.Which puts her at 8 singles so far from her album.

The two examples you mentioned don't really cover Rihanna's case..

50 has been churning out singles out of desperation...none of them have managed to catch on and with his ego..he wouldn't be able to stomach not achieving a hit from his album (which appears like its gonna tank).

Nelly Furtado is relasing all these extra singles just because she can. Her album was a major success mainly on the back of 'Maneater' and 'Promiscuous'. If you've noticed there has been little promotion and money put into the most recent of her vids and its as if they're just releasing them 'just because' - which isnt a bad thing per se.

'Umbrella' aside, Rihanna isnt really setting the charts alight worldwide with her album and this rushing out of videos seems like a ploy to saturate each market so as to guarantee at least one more hit from her mediocre CD.

Tell me about it..alot of Beyonce's recent material has been the equivalent of fast food music. Although Rihanna's songs -though 'ok'- are very forgettable.

A Jay-Z influence perhaps... Maybe Beyonce is too old for him now and he needs a new little project...

She has already got a smash hit that is Umbrella, then theres the album that was number One in the UK, Ireland, Canada, and United Nations Chart. Number 2 in the US, and then top 10 in 11 other countries. Medicore is getting to about 5-10 in the main countries then top 20 in the others.

Shut Up And Drive entered the US charts at number 9 and is still active. It hasn't properly been promoted over here yet considering Umbrella is still such a big hit.

I like 'Don't Stop the Music', the songs catchy, I love her album and agree 'Breakin Dishes' should be a single. I love 'Rehab' but I can't see it being big in the charts sadly.

Agreed. Looking forward to that one.. I think Don't Stop The Music would do better in the UK though, so it's probably a right choice.

...which is funny, as 'No Hay Igual' and 'Glow' are both much better than 'Te Busque'.

In fact the whole album is better than Te Busque
