Hi

My computer died on me earlier this week and I have just found out that I won't be able to get anything back off the hard drive.

I have since bought a new one, with Windows Vista on. Is there any way for me to copy the music on my ipod onto itunes on my new computer?

Cheers in advance, Areece.

in short, yes, but i've only ever done it on XP & the mp3 files will all have a random 4 letter name, eg. KLMQ.mp3 as opposed to Meds ft. Alison Mosshart.mp3

i haven't got mine with me to find if this is right but
plug in your ipod to the computer, go to my computer, double click on your ipods icon, go into Ipod_control, then into Music & there should be folders called something like F00, F01, F02 etc
your music files are in those folders

you will then need to copy them to your hard drive & add them to iTunes' library from whatever location you save them to

Also, once the random lettered mp3s are on your new pc, import them into itunes (first make sure itunes is set to automatically organize library), and it will put them into the correct folders with correct names.

It should be easy to do that, there are many freewares can help you copy music from iPod back to computer, such as YamiPod, Aimersoft, SharePod, etc:
http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/
http://www.aimersoft.com/ipod-copy-manager.html
http://www.sturm.net.nz/downloads/sharepod/sharepod.zip
Hope it helps.

Would you be the same Areece that posted about the Mary Whitehouse Experience in April 2006? If so, have you still got both series on DVD (from ebay) and would you be interested in selling them? Sorry I am not replying to your current post!

It does make you wonder how a brand new FM knew about a 2006 post.
