I suppose this would be a load of rubbish but lets not knock it untill we have seen it. Lets look at the good side, its gonna be better than watching Dean play his guitar or P.J picking his nose.

Why - 'oh dear'?

I'm really looking forward to it - will bring a lovely insight into an age group I've not long been absent from - should provide a lot of laughs and tears along the way I hope.

It will have to be very carefully orchestrated - there will be safeguards in place to prevent any antics which will scare the poor kiddies!

They can even fuel them with alcohol as it's legal in the home/place of residence - they could even put a park bench in with a place to stash their bottles of white lightning

Mmmm, very worrying. Put a group of very body concious, hormone charged young ones into a house and then call it educational and a programme suitable for schools!

At least one thing, they will not argue about the drink on the shopping list as they seem to drink cheap cider by choice. (Would they have to put a McDonalds sign in the garden for them to stand around whilst drinking and make them feel at home!)

I said "oh dear" because these kids will be subjected to a lot of media attention and pressures. Look at previous BBs where some former HMs were reported to be still seeing the shrinks long after they left the house. If these adults are finding it difficult, I dread to think how these kids will cope. It is obvious that Endemol are targeting the teenage and younger audience with this, to get the all important "yoof" advertising revenues. I just find it a bit exploitive.

thanks for that...I fear you're probably right but...

won't they be dealing with different issues though? self-image is bound to be more prevelant, as is being away from home...mixing with the opposite sex without parents being there to stop them...

I just think and I suppose hope more than anything that it can be done in a responsible way...no exploitation - and with shrinks on standby to talk to them and 'reframe' events as they happen rather than just letting them get on with it and allowing it to become a destructive emotion in their future...

a lot of hope

Ok it may have been a bit of a snide comment, but the concern is real. Agree totally with the comments pippy and custard_cream, if people who are meant to be grown up (physically and psychologically) are not able to cope with the pressures and subsequently blame BB on "ruining" their lifes, how is someone younger going to cope?

Plus the fact that they are younger might make any behavior they exhibit more outlandish, not thinking about the effects that will come back to them when they try and start a job etc.

This sounds a bit dodgy to me - I don't mind so much seeing the adults in big brother ruining their lives and sacrificing their privacy but for teens, I just don't think they are old enough to make that decision yet. There should be a minimum age limit on Big Brother participation fo 21 IMHO.

OK - don't typecast me either but I have extremely close experience of 2 teenagers every day and intermitant contact with another. It would be a short experiment, no tv, no computer games, possibly severely rationed pot noodles, no nipping out to the shops/mates house, no mobile phones.

By the way forget the White Lightning - these would prefer the economy voddy any day. Classy!
